I don't think that the DNR truly cares about "producing 170" deer". They are focused on maintaining a certain healthy population level that "balances" the whims of hunters, farmers, insurance agencies, and the general populus and also fits within the carrying capacity of the land.

My view is that an adult deer is a threat to the health of a coyote. A coyote with a busted jaw or busted leg from a well-placed deer kick is DOA. I think they'd opt for easier kills, only taking down adult deer if in a pack or starving.

Yes, I set the date, come back in a month or two and the date is all messed up. Doesn't bother me that much but you'd think it would be an easy fix.

I have a couple of these from different batches. Great sensitivity, one catches vehicles on the road at 100 yards and the pics are clear. Battery life is phenomenal. Only problem is that they juggle the time stamp while deployed. I haven't bought one in a while. Have they fixed that?

What age did you start deer hunting and what year was that? Back when I started in the '70's, most deer hunting was deer drives. Yeah, there were a couple of stands that a kid might have been able to sit in, but they sure weren't going to be drivers. Totally different game these days, but...
