My CO said an infrared system is not legal because it still casts a beam - even if we can't see it. Thermals are good to go. I like the Wraith system, great price,, but it's IR.

You can look up a fishing calendar and it will show you "best" times. Your local weather report is best. Pay attention to fronts coming through. Fish are affected by pressure, etc. Really, the best time is whenever you can get out there.
