    What am I doing wrong?

What are you using for broadheads? Maybe a bigger expandable or put one of those Adder barbed washers behind the broadhead to deliver more shock/less penetration. Also, try backing off the poundage.

    Bobcat

My buddy who got the picture of the eagles finally captured the bobcat on film, though he didn't cooperate in posing head-on. Still, it looks like a big, healthy cat!

    Bald Eagles captured

Had to share a photo my buddy got this past weekend over a deer carcass. He'd seen fresh bobcat tracks around the carcass and hoped to get a picture of that, but these guys used up all the film.

    Zumbo the idiot.

Deernut, I'm with you. I'm not a big fan of his show, but I have to agree that assault rifles don't belong in the hands of people who consider themselves true hunters and sportsmen. People seem to have forgotten the incident in Wisconsin. Yeah, yeah, I know it wasn't the gun that killed those...

    Mouth Calls

I've tried all kinds but always come back to the Primos Diamond Cut three pack. The Rapsy Hen is my favorite. One thing I did was get NWTF's tape of actual turkeys calling ... mostly hens. If you listen, they make all kinds of wierd noises along with what we think of as the "traditional"...

    time for a change

I've got a late muzzle tag but won't get out until this weekend ... maybe. Do plan to go in Lucas Co. the first weekend in January. Hope I can oblige you!

    Locked-up bucks

Could be ... I didn't remember it [that doesn't mean anything ] but didn't go back and check either.

    Locked-up bucks

Got these from a friend of a friend of a friend so not sure what the story is or where these bucks were found. Really a shame!

Input on some hunts you would like to see!!

Do you guys every watch Tred Barta on Versus (formerly Outdoor Life Network)? He's done all kinds of stuff with a longbow ... ducks, geese, pheasants, rabbits, along with big game (incl. Kodiak bear!!!). He's a little over top but definitely entertaining. I'd like to see do-it-yourself hunts...

    Now what?

[ QUOTE ] Also, I don't know if anyone saw the Register on Monday that says we have lowest auto rates of any other state! [/ QUOTE ] Great, we've dropped the herd size as the insurance companies wanted (and reduced the potential for accidents) and what do you wanna bet they still jack up...

    Field report

Doubletree, Thanks for the ongoing commentary and photos. I'm only hunting late muzzle and the January antlerless this year so it's been great to at least be out there vicariously through your posts!!

    Monster KS buck

[ QUOTE ] What's going on with it's forehead? Looks like the hair is rubbed down to the skull. [/ QUOTE ] That's the hole where the inflation needle goes to blow up the antlers.

Any body have any hunts booked for next year??

    Resident Doe Licenses Remaining

I took this information off the DNR's site about 2 p.m. so the numbers could already have changed, but here's what's left for doe licenses. Good news is, there are still over 22,700 available. Bad news is, they're scattered over only 26 counties: Available --- County 1579 --- DECATUR 1565 ---...

    Late Season Muzzleloader

One area I hunt has quite a few ridges. I like to still hunt along the one ridge and watch the ridge and hillside to either side. Particularly if there's snow. I move extremely slow and rest against trees and glass with binos. I've shot three deer this way, two of them while they were bedded...

    November Anterless season

I agree with Bowmaker's assessment of the November gun season. Not everyone bowhunts. It seems somewhat greedy of bowhunters to complain about the loss of three days when they have had the better part of two months, including the rut, to be out there. They also have nearly an additional month...

    Smoke pole question

A buddy of mine has one and I've shot it some. As with most shotguns, you need to try different loads to see what patterns best. I'd have to double check with him, but I think he found it patterned best with 90 grains of loose powder behind an ounce and a quarter of six shot. As mentioned...
