Hunted all week just South of Ledges. Very slow. Lots of young dinks running around. Didn't see anything over 130". Took today off to watch some college football.
I made the exact same shot on a buck last year. The blood trail was amazing for about 500 yards. I kept thinking with that much blood, he had to be dead just over the next hill. We looked for 2 full days and well over 2 miles. We never did find him.
Right after a rain is the best time to hunt an active scrape! Like you said, the bucks will want to get up from their beds and refreshen them as soon as they can.
Nah...you should probably just sit inside and watch the Voice or something...
COME ON MAN! Any time you can get out into a tree, i's worth it! Especially when it's cold in October & November! :thrwrck: :D
How about just yelling at them. It's going to do the same thing that a coyote howl is doing. Spooking them off the field. Either way they responding to what they hear as a predator. I think we overthink these things sometimes.
I know this has been covered on here a million times, but I don't have time to go back and look it up. I'm looking to buy my first muzzleloader. Can I get a second season shotgun tag and still go late season muzzy?
Am I asking too much or is nobody really interested? If someone is interested, make me an honest offer. I have no use for this stand anymore and would like to see someone use it. It's a great stand in great shape.
