I've used the natural gear snow camo for years. Just cheap cotton stuff I can throw on over anything. Works great from a snowy deer stand or any situation on the ground where there is snow.
Bushnell Doa 250 is what I recommend to everyone. My gun along with alot of family and friends are hitting within 2" of each Mark out to 250 with 110 grains of blackhorn and a 250 grain barnes. Been a great combo for us. I killed my buck this year at 156 and my brothers was 226. Know your hold...
I take as much flesh off as I can with a knife. The more you can get off before simmering it the better. I keep my water below a boil with 1/4 cup of sodium carbonate per gallon of water and about a half a cup of borax. Pull them out after 45 mins or an hr and hit them with the powerwasher...
My brothers elite is all snow camo and my limbs are snow camo. Not a single animal since 2011 has ever known the difference. The snow camo from the ground looking up actually blends in with the sky pretty well. Not an ounce of trouble turkey hunting from a blind either. Too late by the time any...
Seeing the most activity on cereal rye that has been put on as a cover crop. All greens are getting hammered right now. Clover and winter wheat are mowed down like a golf course green.
Whether it's 50 degrees or 5 degrees the deer will move to the easiest food source and the least pressure...
Not an UA fan. There are better options on the market. They may not have the money to sponsor every so called "professional" or celebrity. There are endless options that will keep you warm, dry, mobile, and comfortable in the cold.
I'm sure that he will survive, it must not be his #1 concern as he's still up on his feet and acting like a buck. The odds are pretty high that he might drop his antlers alot sooner that the other deer. Once his body recognizes that injury his testosterone level might plummet.
I've been shooting Carter target 4+ for the last 6-8 years and they have never given me any troubles. A friend of mine recently wanted to upgrade from his cheaper thumb trigger and he ended up with a stan. I don't think you can go wrong with Carter or stan. Try to find a shop that has enough on...
I had a friend of mine grab some yesterday and try them. Three different guns at 100 yards and they couldn't get a 3 shot group smaller than a baseball at 100 yards.
Also noted that they load entirely too easy to be safe in their opinion
If it looks too good to be true, it probably is.... just when ya think you have found the perfect bullet. I know Barnes work from 11-221 yards so that's what I'll keep using
That was my #1 deal, the ease of loading... I've heard alot of horror stories of powerbelts that separate from the powder. Not good.
I don't have a single bad thing to say about Barnes these just looked interesting
Does anyone have any first hand experience with these? Guess I live under a rock and am more than happy with my Barnes bullets but these look like the real deal. I heard about them for the first time last night
90 grains by weight is over the max load! And a waste of powder in my findings. I shoot 77 grains by weight in my encore.
I encourage everyone to see just what their gun is actually burning by shooting through a cloth or paper towel say a foot in front of the barrel.
Yeah my gun shoots decent...
If those 22 cal soft points hit bone they can sure wreck a nice looking yote. I've shot them with 95 grain ballistic tips out of the .243 and 115 grain ballistic tips from the 25-06 and I've never had damage like that on a yote!
The 1/4 bore is usually a bang/flop though as apposed to alot of...
I've had one fixed, I had enough pictures to show exactly what was missing. It only added maybe 8" but i was beyond pleased with it. It's going to hang in your house so it's entirely up to you. If I had enough pictures show it all I wouldn't hesitate to fix it at all.
I love my minus 33 as my first layer. I'll have to look at the tags on my second layer and post that. My 3rd "under layer" is the army issue polyester blend stuff. 3 very thin, comfortable base layers.
I've been extremely hard on mine and it hasn't had a hiccup yet. It's not of the same quality as a silky but I've always said if I can't get it with the wicked saw then I'll go grab the stihl. It's the best folding saw I've ever used
Maybe he's trying to help the kid out so that he doesn't get in trouble... you know telling him some rules that maybe his family had overlooked. Not many 16 year old kids are going to fully read all the rules. If dad says it ok, then let's go shoot some deer!
My wife started with the mission craze, moved to the mathews jewel and she's been shooting an elite hunter for the last 3 seasons now.
The elite spirit is a great bow as are almost all of the bows listed so far.
Having the opportunity to shoot a handful of bows that fit her would be your best bet
The advantage is that it's already built. Kinda like ordering a pizza vs making one yourself. May even come with some sort of warranty. The blind, not the pizza
