    Pronhorn Taxiderism ?

We had euro mounts done on both lopes rather than going the shoulder mount route. Bard Coulson had one at the Classic a few years ago that looked pretty good.

    2nd Season In The Snow

Thanks for the sled replies. I may have to swing by somewhere tonight and pick one up.

    Looking for some warm gloves

I wear military surplus rag wool liners all season. When it gets really cold, I'll take along a handwarmer thing that wraps around the waist. I don't like bulky gloves and have found these work best for me. Plus, they are only a few bucks for each pair.

    2nd Season In The Snow

So with all this snow, what's the best way to drag one out, say short of getting someone else to do it? I was thinking of kidnapping the kids' plastic sled to see how it worked out. Would this be better than the standard drag?

    Introducing "Iowa Whitetails Forever"

I've signed up as well. Thanks to those who made this a priority. I know all to well the changes that have hit IL he past 10-15 years. Fortunately, my dad is still able to hunt his home county (Fulton) but there are fewer and fewer places for him to hunt. We need to ensure that our kids...

I just noticed mine is the same way! My PMA is coming due so perhaps that is causing the issue.

    Binocular recommendations

Another vote for the Vortex. I have some binos and a spotter and like them both. Check them out with Boyd at Buck Hollow.

Matt's Skull Cleaning and European mounts in Des Moines http://www.mattsskullcleaning.net/index.html Matt did a euro mount on my deer from last year and did a nice job. I plan on taking him a few more this year, starting with a Colorado antelope if things work out next month.

    Antelope Tips

This is some great information. I'm headed to unit 3 in Colorado to chase these goats around come mid-September. One question on the decoy - should you get as close as possible before showing it or stay back around 100 yards? Thanks and good luck to everyone on their lope hunt this year!

What happened to Central Iowa Archery?

Thanks for the suggestion CamoMan. Brady has always treated us good over the years. I've got a message in for Brady but if I don't hear anything back soon I'll call the Spencer store.

What happened to Central Iowa Archery?

Wow, I'm surprised that they closed and bummed too. I received a $75 gift certificate there last month and was going tomorrow to buy some new arrows. I guess I'm out of luck!

    Copper John Sights?

I switched from a CJ Dead Nuts to the BG flashpoint last year due to pin brightness. The CJ was a rock solid sight but wasn't as bright as the newer models. I looked at the new CJ's but decided on the flashpoint after viewing each in low light. It doesn't seem quite as solid as the CJ, but it...

    Vortex Optics

Does anyone have experience with the Vortex binoculars? I've done some research and like the Fury line in 10x42. I've been saving for some Nikon Monarchs but think I'll try the Vortex instead. Probably can't go wrong with either one.

    Wii

The wife picked up one this morning at walmart. They receive a shipment about every Tuesday or Wednesday but have no idea how many are coming in. As others have said, it's best to talk to someone at the store who knows something, which can be challenging in itself. I did hear that Best Buy in...

    Safety Harness?

I use the Seat of Pants - SOP - harness. It came with a lineman's belt which I use when hanging stands in the tree. It took some getting used to before I felt comfortable leaning from the tree without holding on. I wouldn't think of leaving the ground without it now.
