Sounds good, perhaps I'll see you at the shoot. I NEED to make it out as I've only been to one all summer. Something about finishing the basement that has taken all my time.
I put a teflon slide on my previous bow as it squeaked one morning. Needless to say, the deer spooked and the teflon slide was ordered that night.
If you think it may make noise, I'd recommend changing it before it's too late.
I've been fletching my own arrows for about 7 years now. It's not too hard, just takes a little time. Do a search on here and you'll find a ton of info. That's pretty much how I learned plus actually doing it.
That being said, here's how I do mine. My bemans have the iowawhitetail wrap on...
You can't go wrong with either bow. I picked up the original Switchback last year and absolutely love it. I haven't shot the XT. Check around some pro shops for used Switchbacks. My buddy picked up one this year for a really great price and it even had a Winner's Choice string.
The best...
Check out the following link for Archery Experts. It's $25.

This screws into the stabilizer. I don't know of anyone that has used one. I don't think they'd work too well in windy conditions.

I've been toying with the idea of picking up some new arrows. Here's the two scenarios shot out of a switchback at 63#.
1. Beman ICS Camo Hunters - arrow weight with 100 grain tip is 465 grains. These are shooting at 242 fps and pushing 60.48 of KE (have to love those online calculators!)...
Thanks for the replies and birthday wishes.
I used the switchback last fall and really like it. Should have upgraded bows a few years ago. I've always been a little skeptical on the mechs as I've had such good luck with muzzy's. Both deer this year went down within 30 yards.
However, I hope...
Thanks for the birthday wishes DOR. Another year older but probably not any wiser!
I've read several posts about the Jakhammers (1 3/4") being lethal. I'm not a big fan of the o-rings though. I tried some 2" hammerheads on turkeys last year and had some issues with bow speed. I solved that...
Does anyone have experience using blazers and fixed blade broadheads? I'm considering new arrows this year and using the 2" blazers. I have several muzzy 3 blade heads to use. However, I'm also considering switching to mechanicals.
Any input would be appreciated. Thanks.

Thanks for the info Limb. I think I'll check out the GT Pro as they have tighter tolerances. I'm looking to drop some arrow weight (to around 400) to take advantage of the Switchback's speed! Should help with the 3d scores as well.

Limb,
What is the weight of your 29" Axis arrows? I've been considering picking up some of them this year. Sounds like I'll need to consider the GTs too!
I'm currently using ICS camo hunters by Beman, which are plenty heavy (465 gr including 100 gr BH) for whitetails, but I like those pass...
I too have been looking at rangefinders. I looked at the Nikon 440, Nikon Monarch 800 and the Bushnell Scout. Of these three, I'm going with the Monarch.
My brother has the Leica LRF 800 and it's very nice. The nice thing about the Leica is the readouts are red which really show up in low...
The blades are not being pushed all the way through the target, so perhaps they are sliding back in. I thought the oring would break and fly off upon impact. Perhaps I need to locate another target. Thanks for the help.

I bought some 100 gr. hammerhead expandables to use for spring turkey season. These have a 2" cutting diameter and are supposed to be great for turkeys.
I shot them at my block target this morning and have a problem. At 10 yards, the o-ring is not coming off allowing the blades to open...
When using wraps, just lay the wrap down on an even surface and roll the arrow onto it. Press firmly on the wrap once it is started. Works pretty easy once you do it a few times. I use a dull knife to scrape off the old fletch and glue and then use acetone to clean it as well as the vane...
