Any here shoot traditional bows only?

Stand primarily. There's one area that doesn't really allow for a good stand location that is a candidate for ground sits. But I rarely hunt it until late muzz.

    Trespasser's are back

I would definitely put a note on the treestands, also take the pic(s) into your local archery shops and see if they can identify. I'd be polite about it at first - pry a case of not knowing property lines. Not saying thats a reason to trespass, but I wouldnt go into it 'guns blazing'. You...

Any here shoot traditional bows only?

This will be the year for me....selling my compound and going to the long bow full time. I've been using the compound as a crutch for 4 years now, always telling myself that I'm not ready. I'm ready now - and I'll either harvest or eat a couple tags trying.

It can be done in the rain...I'm just afraid of losing a blood trail. If ur limited on time, I'd give it a try

Any here shoot traditional bows only?

Have not checked this thread in quite a while but did get my long bow. I love how light it is compared to the buffalo. Very quiet and plenty fast. IMO they are the best deal there is on a custom trad bow. Don Dow has since passed but Rich Emery is still making his bows.

    Stand height

I go as high as 3 LW sticks will get me. I find cover, wind, and noise are the primary factors to being busted

    308 ammo (match grade)

I sold my 308 so I have no need for the ammo I have left over. Most of this is match grade ammo, so its perfect for you AR-10 or tactical bolt guys. There's some hunting ammo mixed in as well. Here's what I got: 94 rounds: Federal Gold Medal Match - 168 gr 120 rounds: Hornady Match 168gr...

    Hunting public land

Look for escape routes. Deer will be pushed around early and late morning when hunters move to and from their stands. Again early afternoon when they head out for the evening hunt. Hunting mid day is also usually good for me. Sometimes I'll head out about 830 and hunt til dark.
