    CW Journal

Having been on several elk archery hunts in MT, I suggest you also pack a pair of merrell sneakers. On my first trip,I wore boots for a few days and my heels were blistered to the bone! Good luck!

    Women advice

When I was dating my girlfriend (now my wife for 14yrs) I had a one bedroom apt with a den. I had some mounts in both rooms. No one in her family ever hunted. This was all new to her and somewhat strange. As she got to know me better and having conservations about why I love to hunt and what...

    Sights?

Forgot to mention I recently purchased the IQ bow sight with retina lock. It's dead on at long range when you line up the retina lock. Problem is, it's awkward and doesn't feel natural while shooting. I need to practice with it more to determine if I'm going to use it.

    Cameras stolen

I lock mine with cable locks. Some have custom steel boxes with heavy chains and heavy duty locks. Their going to have to show up with a chain saw or 3' bolt cutters. Most guys aren't packing that stuff. Better safe then robbed.

    Sights?

All my sights are the spot hog hog it hunter. They have the third leveling axis which is crucial for shooting out of the stand especially at longer distances 25 yards plus. You can be dead on at say 35 yards on the ground and if your third axis isn't adjusted when you shoot out of the stand at...

Looking for a good Trail cam!

reconyx hyper fire HC 500. With lithium ion batteries it takes about 40,000 pic before they need to be replaced. That's according to the manual. I'm on my third season with the same batteries. Works great and takes great pics. Expensive and worth it!

    Thermacell heated insoles

You need extra room in your boots for these. I read the paper work that they came with. It said they get up to 110 degrees. I wore them when it was single digits out and couldn't tell a difference. Tested them out of the boot in my garage. I had them on for over an hour and they were barley...

    Warm boots?

From what I've been reading the muck woody max is supposed to be very warm. I ordered a pair for late season. Northern outfitters has a late season boot that's rated to 60 below. That's supposed to be the warmest boot on the planet! It's being redesigned somewhat and will be available march...

    [Opinions] Time For New Raingear

I had the dry plus years ago and after a while it leaked. Maybe the newer stuff is better. I'm a firm believer that you get what you pay for. I have the light weight Sitka jacket and pants and they are excellent. They keep me dry and they are very quite.

    Considering new broadheads

I use and recommend the g5 montec CS. To resharpen them I run the broadhead over a stationary file. Next I run the broadhead over a stationary sharpening stone that has coarse, medium, and fine surfaces. It's quick and very sharp when completed.
