Thanks for all the input guys!.... this is exactly what I needed to hear... I feel that most situations where BH209 has failed has been due to poor cleaning, using weak primers (which I have read it requires a hot primer, the company recommends CCI 209M primers), or poor breach plug...
I am not wanting to start a "Chevy vs. Ford" post here... just looking for serious experience good or bad in foul weather with these powders. I am wanting to try Blackhorn 209 in my new inline muzzleloader this year... but I am concerned how this or any other powder performs in wet weather. I...
I know several of you have experience with this model of camera.... I need some advise. Having trouble consistently getting pictures with these. Bought several cameras a few months ago and not getting many pictures at all. The other brand cameras we are using we are getting a bunch of photos...
Check out the website Max Muzzleloading ..... Shoot Russell an email explaining your problem.... he seems to know A LOT about the Accura guns....
Are you using the standard breech plug that came with the Accura or did you purchase the new and improved Blackhorn 209 Accura breech plug? Also...
Guys,... I have been using one of these for almost 10 years.... definately one of the best purchases I have ever made for hunting.... it is more of an investment... will enable you to stand sit when others are back at camp :way:
Anyone been there lately? I went there for the first time in the spring and had a blast..... hoping to take an all day trip up there early next week. Just wondering the water conditions and what to expect..... :way:
Thanks for all the feedback guys!.... ordered a Vortex scope this morning... will be giving them more business in the future I am sure.... now looking seriously at their binoculars... :way:
Thanks guys !.... that is what I needed to hear.... will order one this morning.... online reviews are very helpful, but I always like hearing feedback from those whom I know are hardcore whitetail hunters.... no better place than here to get that feedback.... :way:
Does anyone have any field experience with Vortex optics? Especially their line of scopes.... seriously considering a Vortex Diamondback for a muzzleloader scope. You CAN'T beat their warranty.... all the reviews I have read online have been very positive. Hoping to get some last minute...
Wayne,..... check out Treehopper.com I have a pair of ratchet pruners I got from them over 10 years ago... still going strong (Haven't tried cutting barbed wire though :D )...... I will definately be checking out Todd's saw and any other equipment he comes out with at the Iowa Deer Classic in...
I have been wanting to get serious about this late muzzleloader hunting... so planning on buying a inline gun soon.... Have been a fan of Nikon optics for a long time... but after a lot of research I am mostly likely going to go with the Vortex line of riflescopes... likely the Diamondback...
Maybe it is just the angles.... but I think that buck is past his prime and is on the downhill side.... hard to imagine in the wild he could be over 7.5 yrs though.... that 'camel' neck along with poor muscle tone makes me think he is much older than he appears in that first photo....
I haven't had a chance to try them out yet... :( Probably will not get a chance to get them out before another week.... will let you know as soon as I have an opinion.... :way:
Anyone happen to have one of these trailcams? I just purchased one of them and a Scoutguard 550.... couldn't decide between the two so I purchased them both..... probably will pick up another one of whichever one I like the best in about a month. The folks at HCO Outdoors seem to really be...
A buddy and I are looking to purchase six Scoutguard 550 trailcams. Anyone have any recommendations on where to get a great price and service? Recommended dealers... etc....
It's called 'sponsorship'.... unfortunately money has infiltrated the hunting industry like everything else.... I have no opinion on the effectiveness of this device... may work wonderfully well.... but in MY opinion it is just another gadget that some 'professional' hunter will try to convince...
