    Easy but $$$$ question

Do the guys that plant corn for plots notice if the deer are drawn to the standing corn more than stubble? Just looking for an edge and thought it might help. Might try some late planted beans between the corn rows.

    Easy but $$$$ question

Suppose a guy decided to just buy standing crops from the farmer where he hunts. Maybe some end rows tucked back in a corner that would help funnel deer and make a good late season draw. How would you calculate the $$$ and what is fair way to measure the area? No effort involved, but not cheap...

Does anyone here hunt elk in Wyoming?

Buddy and I both have 2 points, thinking about going in 09. I have a friend that has been several times DIY and hoping he can give us help. Planning a general tag. Hope they get the wolves under control.

    Wii

    It's December, what's working??

So this is the time of year that you planted plots for. Which ones have the deer in them, which ones never grew, which ones are getting ignored?

    Trail Camera Mounting

My system is pretty hi-tech. I pick up a stick and wedge it behind the back of the camera, then snug down the cable lock to hold everything in place. The higher the camera the thicker the stick for more tilt.

    Trail Camera Mounting

I also put my cams up this way a lot. Carry one LW stick with me gets the camera over 10 feet up. I think the flash from above bothers them less and it definitely is less obvious to people walking through.

    Kid friendly loads for M-loader

We have a long late season for muzzleloaders here. I was debating what would be adequate for deer and not pack too much punch for my 10 year old to tolerate. Planning to keep his range fairly short, 50 yards and under for now. He worries a lot about kick. Any experience is appreciated.

    Thinking Outside of the Box......

While we're at this, where should I store my leftover seed? I have clover and a little AWP. Warm dry basement or cold garage?

    Lone Wolf Elite Hang On

He is 10, second year hunting now. He wants to bow hunt next year and has asked about getting in a tree stand. We have stayed on the ground so far. This LW Elite is big enough he could go for a walk up there. I like using my Cabelas bucks each year to buy a Lone Wolf and this one is about $60...

    Lone Wolf Elite Hang On

Anybody used the LW new oversized hang-on? Just curious, huge platform and bigger seat. Thought it might be good for my son since he doesn't care for heights and it would be plenty big.

    Fuming mad

Hanging them 10+ feet up on tree really helps get them out of line of sight, and most people walk right by them. I know they will get it if they want it bad enough, but they are going to have to cut the tree down or climb it and then cut the cable 12 feet up.

    Switchgrass

DB I have been considering trying to start switch along a creek that runs through crop field to create extra cover. First, does it hold the bank well or will erosion be a problem? Second, can it be started in small patchwork spots doing just what I can by hand each year? The property is not...

    Muzzleloader Scopes

A friend who sells them says the Nikon Prostaff is the best buy for the money. If $$$$ is not a problem then all of the above are excellent.

    Cabela's E-Z Hang Treestands

Follow limb's advice, get a Lone Wolf. I have many stands, working on slowly giving away the noisy ones and replacing with LW as I can swing the $$$.
