I believe loss of habitat has to be part of the problem as well. Areas where deer have been living the last 50 years is now a development to homes and the farmers as well have removed trees, CRP and other areas that gave them a chance to spread out and survive.

It blew me away when you were referencing how many EHD cases aren't reported or even found and the amount that jumps up to!
Thats a huge hit on our herd the last 2 years.
I don't watch any of those shows. I have seen clips from some and really don't get the impression that everything they take is genuine, more like they have to shoot something to make a show. More about making a living off the kill than giving the animal the credit it deserved.
