Awesome pics Kaare! Like everyone else says, it never gets old looking at your pics and hearing the stories.
For the breakers, it looks like they're set back in a box? Maybe some cabinet doors made out of old wood...with deer horn handles!
Back in 2009 I had looked into getting the governor's tags fro Wounded Warrior Hunts. Their suggestion.....get IA vets to hunt in IA since they can get tags....didn't sound like they really cared.
Here's the email response I received.
From: Harrison, Ross [DNR]...
I live in WI and we're on natural gas, direct connect. We just got a call from the gas company last night that they had a pipeline explosion in Canada and are asking everyone to turn their thermostats to 60 to conserve gas.....nice. This should make our prices go up....
The deepest I've seen is 6ft. That was in ND, probably 10yrs ago. Was freezing waterlines to everyone's houses in a little town we had a place in. It was a mess.
The ameristep covers I bought were made so you cut your own windows. The material was really cheap though and ripped easily. Sheets work much better.
The snow camo on the blind does wonders though. Have had deer poking their noses right in the window!
I run bushnell trophy cam's with 8 Lithiums. Usually last about a year and a half to 2 years on batteries and that's having them out for about 10months at a time taking anywhere from 20-1000 pictures/week.
I've got a Primos Turbo Dog, just cuz it was on clearance and cheap. Sounds good to me and calls in yotes so it must work. Batteries seem to last forever in it.
Its great to see how many people Paul has helped over the years! I know I look through his forums each spring and keep finding things to change with my plots.
Thanks for all the info Paul!
I started using boot blankets this year. Have sat all day in single digit temps with my 400 gram danners on with the blankets over them and had toasty toes all day! I have a pretty good and sweaty walk to my stand too so I usually change socks when I get to my stand so there isn't any dampness...
