    Land prices / insane!!!

If you want land and can afford the payments buy it when the right piece comes along. Comparing ROI to the stock market or other investments is foolish, there is way more to owning land than cash value. There is so much money being spent on wants not needs right now it’s ridiculous. Look at...

Congratulations. I never could trap coyotes, putting in a good set requires patience and I lack that. Oddly there are very few coyotes in my neighborhood. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Pheasant rebound…

The wind blew this snow so hard there is almost none on the high spots, bare dirt showing in a lot of bean fields. I saw a small bunch of pheasants out feeding this afternoon on the way home from work. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Mature bucks piling in with cold spell

Great bunch of bucks. I have seen the same thing feeding this time of year, and I only own 20 acres of timber and pasture. EHD hammered my area in 2020 so nothing over 140’s so far this year. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Feed deer

I’ve been doing a quarter mile everyday with 3/4 of a five gallon bucket to the back of my farm. Kinda sucks but I like keeping the bucks around for shed hunting. Watching a couple does browse in the creek below my house right now. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Farmland Prices definitely off the highs

My 2 cents from what I see in my neighborhood. There is alot of land potentially coming to market in 5-10 years. Elderly owners with kids that don’t farm. The local farmers can only buy so much of that at current prices. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Human Urine

Years ago my wife and I use to trail ride horses at elk rock during the rut, awesome seeing all the rutting bucks. I hopped off my horse to take a leak, the horse would do the same, looked up mid stream and some poor guy was up a tree 5 yard’s away in a climber. I still feel bad about that...

Girl hammers an "Iowa deer" in Texas

Looks like she killed it on an army base so no regular feeding. Parts of Texas grow big deer naturally and parts grow well fed 120 inch mature 8 points. Congratulations to the young lady and her dad, once in a lifetime buck anywhere Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    What happened?

Riding around the section the last few nights lots of young bucks out looking and chasing. Saw a 160 ish ten point yesterday and a 170+ plus tonight. Have been seeing more 2.5 and older bucks this fall than 1.5 year old which is odd Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    When was this fawn born/conceived

I watched a buck breed a doe mid April years ago in Elk Rock park. We were trail riding the horses and keeping tabs on a unique buck. With an easy winter like last year yearling does will come into heat way later than most people think Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Fall harvest

I talked with a neighbor today that sells seed and he had a customer pulling 280 bushel an acre corn off a sand river bottom farm. There is a lot of crop to haul out of the field for as dry as it was this year. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Rain

7 tenths in oskaloosa. Very grateful but my water bill will be over 20,000 this month. I manage the sports complex there. I’m sick of this drought Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Fall harvest

Not far from gunrunner, one neighbor started running corn the last day of august. Plenty of corn coming out since and some beans started yesterday. Alfalfa has done surprisingly well here this year. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
