I don't hate the shotgun season...dislike the people buying tags in all the gun seasons, then buying tags for their wives and kids..parents..cousins..and shooting multiple bucks. Is it legal, yes. Ethical? No way. Also, deer drives are a little on the edge too if you have 20 guys pushing...

Makes a difference when guys are dragging their wives out to buy licenses, just so they can shoot the buck.

I live in SW Iowa..most people who are serious hunters down here want it to end. In fact, I wonder if the majority of tags aren't bought by guys from up north. As far as party hunting, it's kind of a crock that a guy can shoot 4 bucks a year, archery, doe tag for season 1, doe tag for season...

1 buck a year, 2 for landowners. Ending all seasons on Dec 31st. End party hunting completely, one tag for one person, you can't shoot 3 bucks and put them on others tags. Deer drives would be reduced this way.

Kind of how I feel, lots of greed, leasing and displacing locals....it's going to kill our great hunting traditions. I do enjoy competing at the pop up tourney.

Fellas...it turns out the final report from the law enforcement shows that the AR was seized in the school, shotgun was in the car. Now, it does concern me that there were reports of it being reversed, which brings out the conspiracy theorists.

Don't know about south central....but it's competive and discouraged in sw iowa....lots of guys from out of state have bought up large tracts of timber...displacing locals...making for some pretty heated exchanges.....besides ...no deer here:grin:

I hope when that happens, people quit pulling out CRP, but it may make it worse. Leasing ground is touchy, a lot of locals get kicked off of huge tracts of land by guys like Tails of the Hunt, Whitetail Fantasies, etc. Can't blame the farmers, but if we want to pass hunting on to the next...

I agree, in general, I am disturbed at how fat, lazy, uneducated, and unmotivated Americans are becoming. It's saddening and disgusting. It's why our health care costs are so high.

Join your local Pheasants Forever, Donate, help them puchase ground that can be turned into public hunting. It's the only thing, other than killing ethanol, that can save habitat. I'd blow up bulldozers and tiling machines, but jail time doesn't sound good.
