Minnesota hunter harvests doe that was aged at 16 1/2

I'll see if I can find pics, I know I took some. "She" actually snapped part of her jaw at one point and it completely healed but left her molars in a mess.

Minnesota hunter harvests doe that was aged at 16 1/2

I shot an antlered doe in southeast Nebraska and sent her teeth in, came back at 15.5. I called the lab and they said they were confident within +/- 1 year and the oldest whitetail doe they'd ever sampled was 20.5 out of the northeast somewhere. Crazy! Add- we ate her, never noticed anything...

    Water Hole Tips

I'm adding a beautiful little 1ac clover field that would be perfect for adding a water hole, any tips and tricks? How big is too big? Has anyone used a pond liner like they have for landscaping instead of rubbermade troughs?

    New respect for turkeys

I'm always thankful that the whitetail archery and spring turkey season don't overlap. I'd have a huge dilemma.

    AMS Help

I've heard people swear by AMS, some don't use it. My question for those who are- what exactly do you use and what does your mixture look like in relation to gly/roundup? My project- I have 5 acres of native grass planting. It's been burned at the end of March and I'm getting ready to hit it...

    Question on Turkey numbers….

I totally hear you and I don't have a silver bullet. SD is just the best example of why bounties don't work like people think they will. What we need is for some dumbass social media influencer to make coonskin hats cool and a commodity. Create market value for furs again.

    Question on Turkey numbers….

Agree on trapping, disagree on bounties. They don't work at scale, look at SD. Their bounty program maxes out at $500k. $10 each means they pay for the first 50k animals and then it's out. 50k isn't a dent in a statewide population. Bounty programs can't tap into PR, federal funding, grants, etc...

Things that make me go Hmmmmm....Land Prices

Another WRP just hit the market in Keokuk co. 175ac for $5,150 . If that doesn't tell you that rec is holding strong, I'm not sure what will.

    SRJ 6 ?? Remove IWILL

Anyone have any details on this introduced bill? I'm being told it would be an amendment to the state constitution to remove IWILL completely. Subcommittee meeting tomorrow, Feb 19th at 11:30am. Room G15. I'm trying to move some stuff around to attend.

    Farm Contract Recommendations

@deerdown @JNRBRONC @Hardwood11 and anyone else, would anyone be willing to share their contract? Obviously remove $ and acreage, any personal information, and anything else you'd prefer not to share, all I'm looking for is how you worded these items. Appreciate all the help here guys! Even the...

    Farm Contract Recommendations

Can you elaborate on that? We just signed up for CRP buffer strips that will be planted this spring. Other than that, ag is the only income on the farm.

    Farm Contract Recommendations

Calling all farm experts! We have a farm in Nebraska that we have always done a crop share situation with the neighboring farmer and it has worked out great but he is growing and wanting to move towards a cash rent situation for this next year. We've liked having a hand in the farm operation but...

    Party hunting regs- clarification

I totally hear you there. I don't have a magic bullet (pun intended) and there is something to be said that people are trying to hit the "easy" button with regulations that don't really do much in the long run. But I don't see tradition as the sole reason to save party hunting being enough...

    Party hunting regs- clarification

Totally agree on sentences 1-3, and not bashing gun hunters as a whole but we need to recognize the bad apples and call them out. As for sentence 4- I think you missed the point. This isn't archery vs gun vs muzzleloader. My family does all 3. This is about party hunting, the history of why...

    Party hunting regs- clarification

This is what I hear a lot of from people who own land or just live in the country even. "We never have problems with hunters, besides the two gun seasons" and so those seasons get associated with the bad apples. I have that problem on a handful of parcels I have permission on. I'll mention it to...
