    best place in country

Without a doubt Kansas for me. I know of an 80 acre farm that three deer over 175" were taken three years in a row. I've also walked into a corner of a Milo field and flushed so many pheasants I thought they were 100's of trash birds... Not to mention their ridiculous turkey population.

    401k for farm ground

I would be darn careful about taking it out "to buy a house". All kinds of tax implications and I would imagine they're pretty strict about following that money trail. I think your best course would be to give your self a loan for the down payment for the land, and pay yourself back once your...

    Hunting cabin idea.

I agree, I can picture the pranks my hunting buds would play on me while sleeping. #claustrophobic

What Kind of area do you feel like holds the most deer?

Do you honestly think that's where they do most of their hunting?

    Great Season

Tagged out in MO and Kansas in two weekends. I'm going to have to do a turkey hunt swap with some of you blessed Iowa boys next season and try for a three State tag out! Here are some pics of the birds

    Need a New Box Blind

That looks incredible. Realistically building will be out of the picture for me with work and family. Sounds perfect on paper, but know I'll put off :).

    Need a New Box Blind

Picked up and a new farm and am looking for some new box blinds. I've tried shadow hunters, banks blinds, sportsmans condos and a few other no names...not thrilled with any of them. I'm leaning towards Rednecks, but not digging their premium. The blinds need to support gun and bow hunting...

    Estes park

If you have time, look up Kirk's Mountain adventures. I've used him a few times for flyfishing trips in the park...Kirk is simply a phenomenal guide. If you can't get him, ask for his wife Lori. If fly fishing isn't your thing they also do horseback and hiking adventures into the high country.

SD Card Format Help - Mac

Yeah, that's about the only way I've found that works. Running so many cameras this can take a lot of time at each camera. I'll post back if I find a workaround! Happy New Year!

SD Card Format Help - Mac

I just switched our home PC out to a Mac, I typically took all my "dirty" SD cards from the field and reviewed them on our PC then formatted the SD card and was always plug-and-play back in the field with clean cards. I've tried all the format options on the Mac, but most cameras show...

    mock rub/scrape trees

They are back at it, captured some great fights on 12/17 & 12/19. Literally three or four times a week bucks square up by this mock scrape / rub tree. 12/17 Fights: 12/19 Matchup:

    mock rub/scrape trees

Pretty cool, the same suspects come back year-after-year to my mock scrape/rub tree planted in the same place. This may not be the same buck, if not he is definitely his son. Not a giant, but love using this tactic to capture pics. I can count on a good 1000 pics a week by every buck that...

    Clover

Here is a 2nd year white clover plot, planted with a rye and wheat cover crop in August 2014. I frost seeded some trouble areas this March and was only able to clip it twice this summer. We had a brutally dry Summer here in NoMo, but a few timely rains helped it roar back just in time for...

    Tree Seed Help

I have a substantial number of tree seeds (mainly persimmon & acorns) that I cleaned and bagged in organic hummus and placed in a spare refrigerator. I just went to check on them and I think a kid was playing with the thermostat and the bags are 98% frozen solid. Should I keep frozen until...
