What's an amount that you consider "breaking the bank"? The cantilever should keep a zero, when switching back and forth.......but I would always go out and test shoot, to make sure it's still on target. Lightfield makes a great slug, that should pair well with the Mossberg...

I picked some up to give it a try. VERY strong vanilla/cinnamon smell. I could see it working if used regularly, in/around your stand sites, to get the deer used to the smell (cover sent). If only used occasionally, it could potentially detour an old buck/doe that knows to leave when he smells...

I would like to see the deer/plane collision numbers..........

There aren't too many places in iowa with a "bad" food source, so I wouldn't think that's the case. You'll run into some deer that have a calm demeanor and tend to stay away from fighting, but they are few and far between. I'm gonna say you have too many slick head sluts runnin around.
