Bucks are locked down right now in my area for sure. Friday evening I did see 5 bucks but I was sitting as close as I could get between 2 main bedding areas. One of those bucks (Giant) acted like he had a doe bedded down. He came out right behind two 2.5 year olds and looked to be just walking...

Makes me a little sick...he was a borderline hit lister and actually saw monster #1 an hour before he came through just no shot at the big big one.

Anyone have any experience with neck shots...deer was broad side moving just a touch at 40 yards but stopped as arrow got to him. Hit just in front of shoulder dang near in the middle of his neck. Arrow was stuck through both sides..bright red blood trail and pretty good blood for a long ways...

Checked my camera when I left the stand around 11:30 this morning and had a shooter 8 go by at noon yesterday, of course I had already gotten out of the tree by then... That was only deer on cam til midnight...hit or miss right now but hey that's the good and bad of the unpredictable rut

Saw probably 6 does and 4 different bucks this morning. Rattled 3 of the 4 bucks in. All in the AM. Does were out with a buck in the group around 7:30 but didn't see another buck until around 8:30, then they just got a bit bigger as they came through. Last buck came through around 10. I think...
