Why don't you support conservation and sportsman groups?

Good point, we get older, we get more involved. However, there's a serious shortage in that 30 - 40 y/o age group as well. I see it in the groups I'm involved with and hear about regularly from people involved in other groups. Especially when it comes to active members. I agree 100% about...

Why don't you support conservation and sportsman groups?

Any of them. We are becoming a society of takers. Conservation and outdoor sports need more help than ever, but most would rather be a Bone Collector. Am I wrong?:) Pick a group or two that fit you and your outdoor passion the most, join and give back.

Why don't you support conservation and sportsman groups?

Don't tell me it's the cost. I know how much a beer costs at the Iowa Deer Classic!:)

Why don't you support conservation and sportsman groups?

We have more Bone Collectors than conservation protectors in our ranks. Why do you think this is? Pretty sad trend if you ask me!

Are Bowhunters Poorer than Other Hunters?

I've heard many opinions that WTU's local spending should be much higher considering their revenues. It would be nice to see their numbers. I go to the IBA Banquet and local WTU banquet. There is little comparison other than a bunch of hunters sitting down to eat. WTU banquets are getting a...

Any here shoot traditional bows only?

Since 1996...they are outstanding bows. However, anymore there are many out there of the same high end quality. With Widow you are partly paying for no questions asked customer service. They are standouts in that respect. Shoot a few brands and models til you find one that feels like it's a...

    Crossbows?!?!? Iowa bow season?

If archery success rates begin to increase due to allowing crossbows in the regular achery season, you may at some point see changes made to our season structure. Most would agree Iowa has one of the best structured archery seasons in the country. Why jeopardize it? Put them in a gun season...

    Cape Needed

I'd check with some of the local lockers in Southern IA. I bet there will be some nice mature capes coming in during the late rifle season that you could get for free.:)

Now that Bow season is about to start back up..........

There is a saying that I believe holds very true in Iowa. "90% of the deer are on 10% of the ground during the late season. Find yourself a piece of that 10% if you can and then hunt it very carefully.

Gonna miss world war 3 this weekend!

The problem is that shotgun season is typically when a large amount of people who do not handle guns much and don't hunt often, pick up a weapon and head to the timber. This is not a bowhunter vs gun hunter issue. It is what it is and the tresspassing, unsafe firearms handling and other issues...

    Rattling

I haven't had luck with it during peak rut either, but around Thanksgiving I have. I have always wondered how many deer avoid my hunting area because of rattling. Maybe a doe that would drag a buck along.....hard to say though.
