A friend of mine raised one from the wild also. Once the velvet came off you could not get anywhere near him. That SOB was as mean as they come. He'd hit the gate so hard, you'd swear it'd come off the hinges. He'd start wheezing as soon as he had ya in sight.......the rest of the year...

Fred Asbell has a couple great books out on ground hunting....very good reads. Lots of good solid info like timekiller gave you. Find your best ambush and do whatever you have to do to make it huntable. Sometimes the ground is best, other times a tree is best. Some of my best hunts were on the...
