Very little clover. Mostly weeds.
I don't want to kill the weeds if I don't have to as it's still 6/ 7 weeks away until I plant brassicas and I don't feel that killing them and have everything bare black dirt would be beneficial to the soil for that long.
Fellas. Question for you.
I've got 2, 1/4acre fields tucked in the woods that get good sunlight for 1/2 the day.
Had clovers in them last year (Imperial Whitetail) junk! They came in good last year but now they are less then half of what they should be.
I'm planning on turnips/ radishes...
Skip, not sure what its intent was? Guessing just curious but typically, farm county bears aren't real curious about people.
HardWoods, the no quota zone is where I have h7nted every year since 1991.
Also used to hunt yearly in Ontario, Manitoba and Saskatchewan.
Bear is my favorite game meat...
Got permission from a family member to put in a foodplot on his property.
Started working on it 2 weeks ago.
Went to check a cam this morning and on the way back to my truck, a medium sized bear popped out and started following me.
Now, I've been hunting bear for over 40 years and have killed...
I knew an elder lady that had 33 acres of wooded riverbottom.
Have hunted it since about 1985ish with permission.
In 2009, she called me and asked " you're a roofer right", I said yepper.
She explained her house was in dire need of new shingles. She asked me if she bought the materials, and I...
Dead center in the pic my oldest doe had her fawns a few days ago.
She greerts me every morning at sun up with her head peeking out of those beautiful Phlox Flowers.
Just seen her bout an hour ago and she had 2 babies standing with her.
SO Beautiful!
I've never planted switch. Not enuff acres to so so.
Even if I did, I just can't embrace the planting of it for the purpose of bedding area.
Way better options in my opinion.
No fawns yet. My resident does look like they are ready to explode.
No doubt twin/ tripps. Even got 2 doe fawns that got bred. 2 super mild winters in a row. Have now to many deer for the limited cover. Gonna need a severe winter to knock em back as our hunter #s are dismally low.
Several old...
The does were acting really weird this evening.
Grabbed the .22 mag and have had my eyes glued out the back window.
Was a super fast glance/ shot at bout 60 yards.
Giddy as hell.
Old post.
83, what kind of tablets do you add to your waterholes for insects?
I've got a new 200 gallon tank dug in and I'm guessing mosquitoes will be out shortly.
I will NEVER plant Imperial Whitetail clover again!.
Planted it about a year ago, it came up great and it looked fantastic all summer/ fall.
Now, it looks like crap. Very thin plot and weeds are taking over.
Will get some good Ladino seed and try broadcasting it in.
