    RUT ACTIVITY UPDATES?

Hunted this morning, froze my tail off. Had a 3 y.o. 10 that I haven't seen before cruise by just before 9, then again an hour later. And that was it. Got out of the tree at 11:30 because we had to work cattle this afternoon. Kinda scratched my head all the way back to the truck wondering...

    RUT ACTIVITY UPDATES?

I took last Thursday and Friday off as well as this whole week. Been slow so I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one. For the most part the action has been first hour and last hour every day except Nov 1st. I've passed 3 different mid 140s in that 3 y.o. range. Have had two of them inside 20...

Hiding in plain sight - mature bucks

Looking for some experiences from others in regards to mature bucks living in places right under our noses and how to go about killing bucks like that. A few years ago, a friend of mine shot a 180 class buck during shotgun season on an 80 acre crp field. The only trees on the place were the...

    Budget Camera

I'm at the point where I refuse to run anything but Moultrie. I usually buy their $100-120 cameras and have had great success with them. I've ran Covert, Cuddeback, Muddy, and Bushnell in the past and always seem to come away disappointed. I'll be Moultrie until they give me a reason not to be.

    Drone tresspassing

I'm just messenger but the FAA mandates drone pilots to not fly above 400 ft. So I guess we're at a crossroads, aren't we.

    Drone tresspassing

You'd be playing with fire. I believe the FAA is on record saying they view unmanned aircraft the same as manned aircraft, they both have to follow the same airspace rules.. no-fly zones are the same for drones and planes, etc. Aircraft Sabotage is a federal crime and would definitely land you...

Typical day in Iowa .... :)

I'm not lawyer, but I agree... no chance that sticks. The justice system will do as exactly as it's intended. With all due respect, I think might be too close to the situation and letting your emotions play into it. For attempted murder to stick, they would have to prove beyond a reasonable...

The Traveling & living area of some mature bucks, interesting example...

Really interesting stuff. Thanks for sharing. I've spent soooo many hours day dreaming about, thinking about, and scratching my head about bucks that have stuck around for a while then *poof* never see them again until next year. Or the ones that you get one picture of in late October then...

    How wet is it?

We have over a month before you need to be concerned about getting beans in the ground. But yes, I'm sure there will be some PP acres this year.

    How wet is it?

Dad has planted a total of 60 acres of corn so far and that was just to say we got something in. That was Thursday night ahead of the last round of rain, and it was far less than ideal conditions. Not good. Same goes for the 10 day forecast.

    Indian Burial Mounds

I'm not an expert by any means but I've always found this stuff interesting. The Skillet Creek Indian Mounds located east of Dayton, IA are very similar in size to what you describe if I remember correctly. You can hike up and look at them... maybe a 15 minute hike, if that...

    Looking for a new Broadhead...

I've been shooting Magnus Buzzcuts for 3-4 years or so. I have no plans of switching anytime soon. I have them on the end of some Easton FMJs and I've never not had a complete pass through. They fly great and I believe Magnus will still replace any broadhead you break, so they truly stand by...
