Couple neat videos from DXG567 Homebrew Video with Amped Sound

Cool videos! Are there any DXG building videos you can point me to? I have built about 10 homebrews and have a Sony TR517 IR video setup that is just getting too heavy to lug around everywhere. It's also getting very unreliable these days and i was planning on building a couple DXG's this...

    the shrinker buck

Are you sure most of the deer on your farm have a double throat patch? A taxidermist i know told me he sees them in about 1 in every 100 deer brought in.

    deer numbers down

Now that it is in the Governors hands i doubt the flow of tags will slow down until our herd is severely lower than anyone expects.

    deer numbers down

I don't think Chester, (Culver) is too keen on lowering the deer tag numbers either.

Anyone heard about a new record from clarion iowa

Do not believe anything until you see proof. Too many false emails going around this time of year.

    Ditch hunters...hmmm

The problem is some ditch hunters would probably take a shot onto private land, or over the road. Both are illegal.

    bows

Mathews Switchback for sure. I have a Mathews Q2 for a backup, and definately want to upgrade that one to the Switchback someday. You can probably find a bare bow for $400 to $500, so you may have a little left over for accessories. I've been watching AT for a long time, and everytime...

    scents and lures

I've never had much luck with doe estrous scents and i use them every year. Not anymore. I'm not wasting my money on it anymore.

Anybody seeing less deer than me?

It's always been said that the smaller bucks run first and you don't start to see the giants until at least the second week of November.

Video - Bucks workin over a scrape

I posted this a couple years ago but thought i would do it again with the rut kicking in. It is some good video. I have a homebrew videocamera setup using a Sony TR517 videocamera converted to IR, running a 120 led IR light. I had it mounted on the tree looking right down the licking branch...

Anybody seeing less deer than me?

I showed up today to find the corn picked in a 30 yard wide strip around the edge of the field. I thought this was going to be great. I saw a couple does but nothing close, then right at dark a buck chased a doe into the field and walked 20 yards right in front of me and stopped. It was so dark...

Anybody seeing less deer than me?

I sat in a shallow ravine tonight just between two cornfields to get out of the wind and did see 2 smaller bucks wrangling up about 4 does, so the curse is finally lifted. I just hope the deer sightings can become a little more consistant.

Anybody seeing less deer than me?

Inside/outside corners of field edges, funnels. Wow, on an average night, when i am seeing deer, maybe 2 or 3 is about average. If i see 6 or more i feel i have seen alot. But then again, most of my stands are in the timber. Of the 28 hunts i have in my hunting log from last year, 12 times i...

Anybody seeing less deer than me?

I've been doing alot of working lately so i have only been out 4 times, all in the last 2 weeks, and have seen 0 deer from my stands. i have hunted a different stand every time. I'm as scent free as possible, always have the wind in my favor, can get in and out of my stands without being...

    Nose jammer

Alot of peole say that vanilla draws in the deer, but i would rather smell like nothing when that monster buck comes in. If they were sniffing your tracks they had to have smelled something. Maybe the vanilla scent put them at ease. Probably more of a vanilla attractant than a nose jammer.

Any bow supertuners in the Muscatine area?

Airassault - I do remember Frank Hahn but assumed he got out of the business when he sold the place quite a few years ago. I met John Nupp years ago and thought about contacting him, but didn't know if he did that kind of work for others. jjohnson - the stringmaker had a card that came with...
