Terry,
Not arguing USDA vs DNR... but simply stating that WI DNR tried for many years to erradicate ALL deer in the CWD zone. I repeat ALL deer... I doubt too many Iowans would want that
Apple trees! Secluded water or you can get apple scent oil concentrate and spray it on a mock scrape, the scent last will last long enough for deer to check frequently. Been dealing with this in WI for years already...
Sounds like Iowa is getting a taste of WI.... except for us it was EAB = earn a buck. Shoot a doe before obtaining a buck tag... deer populations in much of the state are way down, especially on public lands where private landowner would go to shoot a doe to earn a buck. I hope you guys can slow...
How can a guy have that many World Class Whitetails on 1000 acres is beyond me! I know Prucha is a neighbor, I'm guessing he has to be tied in with other top end hunters or his program would never work... meaning is neighbors would be killing some of his biggest bucks???
Someone in my area was arrested for poaching does over a 3yr period and selling them so guys could get earn a buck stickers... Sounds like he was being paid well 2! Sad but reality
Nothing good comes from forcing people 2 shoot does to have the opportunity 2 harvest bucks. In those yrs I also...
I have WI experience in the CWD zone (earn a buck)... it can go from good (in regards to population), to okay, to bad in matter of 2-3yrs with a kill does mentality. Those that will complain most in 5yrs are the same guys that shoot 4,5,6 adult does a season...
Looks like you been knocking em down for quite a while! :D
I got a shed hunting buddy that put together the same type of display with his sheds... lookn good
Seems like the deer have transitioned to acorns and corn fields in my area... giving the brassicas a break. Can't wait for freezing temps to heat things up
