My youngest son put an arrow in this buck's shoulder back on Sept 21st, did not even faze him. Of course now he shows up in front of me all the time. Hoping he can get a bullet in him this weekend.

    Alfalfa

Freshly killed 1/4 acre patch of fescue on July 4th, disked in 100lbs of 6-24-24 on July 28th, packed it, put down 5lbs of alfalfa and packed it again. Alfalfa seems to put most of its early growth into the roots, it's finally getting some good top growth. We've have great moisture in Putnam Co...

    Brassicas

Whitetail Institute Wintergreens planted July 29th with 200lbs of triple 12. We used our new Solo spreader and put it down a lil too thick. It should've covered a 1/2 acre but we only got about half that and ran out of seed, we'll see how the bulbs turn out. We figured out the adjustment on the...

    Catfish Rod & Reel Recommendation

Not rod/reel but we caught these blues on trot lines using perch in some backwater of the Missouri near Washington, MO over memorial weekend. 18 & 26lbs. From Friday evening till Monday morning these were the only 2 we caught besides snagging the sturgeon, had it slightly hooked under a scale...

    Lime question

On some of my smaller woods plots I use this. Just cut open one of the ends and fling it back and forth, not the easiest but effective https://www.tractorsupply.com/tsc/product/waukesha-lime-barnlime-50-lb-bag

    Disc Rebuild

Tight spacing may clog up more when working ground with moisture unless you have disc cleaners, I'd leave it as is. I have a 6ft 3 point and it tends to clog w/o cleaners

    Apple/Pear Trees

I was planning to move these from the small containers to 3 gal buckets after they get more growth maybe in a month. I was going to see what they look like this fall and either keep them inside till spring or go ahead and get them in the ground, not sure. What would you recommend? My original...

    Apple/Pear Trees

Here's an update on my 1st apple grafting experience, Burnt Ridge Nursery sent me a dozen M111 rootstock instead of the M116 they originally told (good thing) I used the whip and tongue method and did this on April 19th. After I matched up the rootstock and scion I wrapped a rubber band around...

    Catfish Rod & Reel Recommendation

Looking to get back on the MO river and begin the quest for huge blues and flathead. We had always ran trot lines but I'm looking for a good heavy duty rod/reel combo. Any recommendations?
