We only have about 3" here, will hopefully be adding to this thread later with some scenes from the SNOWY stand!
From the text messages I got this morning the bucks were on their feet and believe one in particular with 15 pts is on its side or possibly hanging upside down! Waiting for the report!
Put team 3 on the board as I shot a doe Friday night. I only got one crappy picture of her hanging in my garage though. I can upload it if needed. I actually forgot about this contest or I would have made a point to get a photo. Sorry!
Are you getting any residue on your arrows? I have seen plastic filled bag targets do exactly what you are describing. I think its related to friction/heat on impact.
I'm sure they aren't, but your filed points aren't slightly larger than the shaft or insert are they? Just asking.
I had the same thing (kinda) happen years ago. Shot a deer, it got across the river on me so I decided to take up the trail in the morning. Found the deer on the other side of the river first thing the next morning partially eaten and a pile of coyote schnit on top of the carcass as if to say...
First time I shot an Xpedition bow 4 years ago, it put a smile on my face like no other bow has. I now own two of them. Easiest bow to tune and such a great group of people running the factory in Decorah.
The shoot scheduled for the 28/29th of Sept at the Mahaska Ikes has been cancelled. Jake had some fairly substantial personal issues come up and decided it was best to cancel.
Last chance to tune up on a 3D course for the season! Mahaska County Ikes September 28th and 29th. Full 40 target course. Targets in both wooded and field settings. Delta Mckenzie targets mostly.
Xpedition Perfexion will go out to 32 ½" and is a very pleasant bow to shoot. They can be found on Archery talk pretty cheap and the company is Iowa based. They will hit the advertised speeds. 337 fps. Also the customer service is second to none! Located in Decorah.
I have been using a Silverback for everything. While hunting when it is cold I keep it in my coat pocket with a hand warmer. Keeps the release warm. I cannot fit my fat finger through the hole with a glove on so I cut the fore finger out of the glove. If my hand gets cold it goes in the pocket...
Guys for the record. I am not condoning the use of the fly bait. I have never personally used but know others that have. I am of the type that would rather use a live trap (yes I'm a softy) and remove the pests. I was only relaying information to be helpful.
