Had a good solid 140" walk in to the north of me last night, tried to get his attention with the grunt to no avail. Wanted to get a better look at him as he was out at 70 yds. He didn't act like he even heard it. Nose was not to the ground, walking at a semi fast pace but on a mission to do...
If its any help, I hit a buck a little high and in the front shoulder hard last year. 4" of penetration max is all I got. He did not hardly flinch and im sure he survived. If you got half an arrow, id be looking for him! Good luck!
I didn't see squat last night except a tail bouncing away after a very dominate snort...pretty sure it was a buck that snuck in at dark and busted me as I was getting down. Didn't see any deer on the drive home either. Didn't seem to be moving. My local buddies saw pretty much the same. Back to...
I sat in a blind last night, had two mature does walk by less than 10 yards. Figured they were coming out in the field to browse. Time was around 4:40 PM. They got out in the bean field about 40 yards and I noticed they were obviously nervous. They kept looking "over their shoulders" and took...
Man this thread really brings up a lot of thoughts and experiences in my mind both good and bad after all the years I have hunted. Just not enough time to type it all.
One thing I have learned from it all. Hunt for yourself, don't feel pressured you HAVE to shoot a certain deer or a deer that...
Last night watched good 140+ make a circle around three does with his nose to the ground. On his feet and on a mission. Of course he passed less than 20 yards from one of my stands - I was not setting in. He then worked over a scrape all the while keeping the three does in his sight. I will be...
I have had mine so long the rubber over the reed has broken off, I have to cup my hand over it to get it to work. I have taught myself how to make estrus bleats, fawn bleats and various tones of grunts. Just takes time to figure out where to place the rubber band. I can't begin to think of how...
Watched a stud through the binos Tuesday night work a scrape for 15-20 minutes. Smaller buck showed up, bigger buck advanced a few steps, smaller buck retreated. Here we go!!!
Absolutely use them. I found they are a slight bit heavier than a normal nock (20 grains) in which may affect arrow impact slightly from arrows with regular nocks. I bet once you use them you wont want to not use them for hunting ;)
