My wife and I have been the ASA (Archery Shooters Association) state directors here in Texas since 2005. We took Texas from a small ASA state to number 1 in the nation in state level attendance. We don't have plans to make ASA that big in Iowa. We are retiring and don't want to work that hard.:D...
We plan on putting in a 3D archery range with 3D targets and practice bags on our ground in Davis county. We will have a small shop that will offer basic bow maintenance services (not much merchandise). We plan to have some 3D shoots during the spring and summer as well.
I think it is a good policy and definitely a deterrent.
In Texas there are now 172 schools districts that allow teachers to be armed. Most of these are rural school districts with very conservative minded school boards and administrators. Here are a couple of links for more info...
I have been a construction superintendent for a general contractor (two companies) for the last 36 years. 18 years with one company and going on 18 1/2 with the current company. We build schools, churches and municipal facilities. My wife and I were also the ASA (Archery Shooters Association)...
I think he will pay. He has a very successful plumbing business in Aubrey, Texas. He has four kids and a wife to support.
I heard he had a well known lawyer that negotiated the plea bargain. The state was ready and armed with evidence to hit him hard if it went to trial.

This is a different case that was in the next county to the northeast. This judge was not playing when he handed out this sentence. Jail for the next 5 years for the weekends during hunting season...

There are reports that a person with the same name and same birthday was accused of some kind of illegal hunting activity in 2004. I could not find anything in the Denton county court records, but it has to be him. I have heard that his mother was a city police officer at that time and she got...
I have heard he used a hog light. There are a lot of guys that hunt feral hogs at night in Texas. They use lights like this one:

This deer was kind of a neighborhood deer. The buck spent a lot of time in a state park and was seen by a lot of people. The buck was well known in the area and was kind of a legend in the area. There are a couple of big chunks of private ground that butted up to the park. This kept the buck...
278" buck was shot at night and hunter was trespassing on property that he did not have permission to hunt.
He plead no contest on the charges. He received one year in jail, suspended, 40 hours community service, two years probation, loss of hunting license for probationary period and...

On my first sit on Nov. 3 after only about 30 minutes in the stand I blind grunted. I...
