just took one lil over a week ago . IMHO way too easy. I'm looking at taking another class later to actually maybe learn more. I think my son's hunter safety was harder to pass than that and that's not saying alot lol.
Just turned in the App to sheriff in Warren on the 8th , no idea how long it...
To those that have this i'm getting one for Christmas. Gonna use for still hunting in some thick areas . Thinking open sights and sling. Any recommendations?
Ask me that next year when deer are hard to find after the ehd losses. I just don't understand the kill em all mentality. I have nothing against gun Hunters in general , I go when I can myself but don't like driving as a personal preference. Hush meets certain needs but it shouldn't be an excuse...
100% agree with cooter on this one. It varies from person i'm sure. The public I hunt is 100ish acres and gets destroyed gun 2 by a group of approx 30 guys that walk all over adjoining property and shoot every deer that moves. every year there's a few found dead that they don't find. Btw the...
when i was a kid in wisconsin we had a large group of guys that would do that , drive around see a deer and jump out and shoot. We put a styrofoam deer out in a field across the road and watched one morning as 6 guys opened fire and it exploded , dumb arses :thrwrck:
i know how you feel Quick , been asking around for 2 years. i think polk and warren are tougher since so close to des moines. i even thought about running an ad trading services for land access ( im a painting contractor )
Good luck to you tho , I'm sure It'll come eventually
Accuracy isn't the issue. It very well could have and probably was a bad hit. I can hit a silver dollar at 50 yards. I free handed the shot and more than likely dropped the muzzle a but. The issue was lack of any blood trail.
I think i'm gonna try the Barnes out , that doe i got last year i hit just behind shoulder quartered to , there was no exit wound and the field dress was a mess , was like a mini hand grenade went off inside her. sure she went like 20 yds but im guessing shrapnel like you said
so .. im sticking my nose out here to probably have it chopped off but wanted to post anyway so other inexperienced hunter's can also learn from my mistakes.
this is only my second year of deer hunting since i was a kid and then i was just basically an extra tag for my uncles. i was never...
Trust me I'm a happy camper with that buck. When he came running in to that bleat the way he did and i saw that rack i shot with a smile on my face. It's been near a week and i'm still stoked about it. I'll never forget that moment :D
here's the rack off my first bow deer and first buck ever , i had posted the harvest on the harvest forums. did it myself with a kit from wally world haha.one crazy looking set of antlers :D
