We checked a snare today that had a coyote in it.. blood everywhere and he chewed through the damn snare cable and got away.. any suggestions for that? Ive heard to put a log or something there to give them something else to chew on.

Our total after today is 5 coons and 2 grinners. 2 coons were over 20 lbs I'd say. We had 7 coyote sets out and nothing touched them yet but I set them more for northerly and westerly winds. We'll see how it goes tomorrow.
We painted some white last year.. didn't really notice a big difference in catch rate and you'll have to repaint them again after you catch one or two because they scratch all the paint off from trying to get out of it. It definitely doesn't hurt. A good moonlit night would really make them...
