    NE Iowa Taxidermists

I recommend Jeff at Big Rig River taxidermy in Lansing. He used to (maybe still does) judge taxidermy competitions and his brother that handles the capes does the cape prep for other area taxidermists. In 2010 he did my 2008 buck that I dropped off at another taxi. I picked up the frozen cape...

    Every year

The headlines speak for themselves: Articles Detail Public Assistance Sought for Property Damage Incident in Winneshiek County Posted: 12/02/2012 DECORAH – The public is being asked for information relating to a shotgun slug being fired through the picture window of an occupied home...

2012 Drought and new NWSG plantings

My spring 2011 CRP plantings look horrible. Just started seeing spotty switch grass sprouting late in 2012. I am curious what others have experienced...

    Sweet Deals

Since it is Christmas shopping seasons and great bargains are popping up, I thought I would start a thread for us to post some of the better bargains we are finding. Anyway, today I purchased a set of Vortex Crossfire 10X42 binoculars from cabelas for 69.88, less than 1/2 price. Not sure how...

    Broadheads

Me four! These heads are a great value @$25/3 and a 1 1/8" OD 4-blade does just as much damage as a wide 2-blade IMO. 10+ deer and I have never had a blade bend, but if you hit bone the edge may be damaged beyond sharpening. No tools required to replace the blades.

    Pole Buildings?????

I would give Cleary Buildings a call if they are in your area. I am really happy with mine. It was handled out of the Prairie Du Chein, WI location but they have facilities throughout the Midwest.

    Good temps bad winds

I can't speak for Breiner but I have noticed this as well, especially during the pre-rut. Nov. 1 2008 was an evening with a strong East wind that followed what seemed like a week of consecutive west winds. It was still unseasonably warm, but I never saw so many large bucks in the back of pickups...

    Rut? No Rut?

Seems like the rut timing may be a little more spread out this year. On Saturday I saw two different mature bucks with a doe isolated in a middle of large fields. Very early for this activity compared to past years. However, I am also seeing some farms with 2.5 year old bucks travelling...

    Non Resident Landowner Rant

10k in taxes? You are doing something wrong. Put the timber in the Timber Reserve program. Taxes on tillable in NE Iowa are about $10 per acre per year.

Picture of the only way Ozonics works

Exactly! It is frustrating watching someone trying to build a brand and bring it down a notch everytime Ozonics is mentioned. If the product works, great!... use it to kill big bucks and sell more videos and saws. Don't associate with it in a way that will ruin what you are trying to build for...

    Acorns to Oaks!

Thanks for the replies guys. I think I am going to fill it with red cedar seeds but experiment with a row of white oaks to see what happens.
