Nothing wrong with either. You need them in Iowa or we'll become like other states and have gun seasons a lot longer than we do now. I'm not sure why hunters can't see this? Sure it gets abused by some, but look at other states around us, what will happen to Iowa if we have gun seasons like...
I see a lot of comments about using straight wall rifles during shotgun season. Is it because some have an AR type platform? These cartridges don't shoot any further than a good shotgun with a scope, I know, I have both. Both are 200 yard guns for the most part. Yes some will shoot further...
Ya sometimes I'll go look at the card before getting into the blind to see what's been moving. It's not a live update as to what's moving at that very minute, but as it reads I can't do that. I don't consider that being the same, but as the law reads it does.
I got my 1st season tag online for the first time this year. Tag came but my wife didn't say anything so I called the DNR number for the license department and they sent me another one. When I saw the first tag my wife showed me, I just tore it up and threw it away. I didn't check if the...
So if you want a challenge, why didn't you buy a spear versus a bow? Sounds like you're looking for a buddy in Iowa that will agree with you, sorry, maybe try another website!
Unless you have a lot of land, it's a gamble to let a nice buck walk hoping he'll be back next year. Over the last few years I've let a couple good ones walk, yet to see them again but I know they're still there because my brother has seen them. It's up to the individual as to what they will...
Hard to find cheaper ones, but at the time I bought the vinyl slider windows from Menards versus the ones I made from plexiglass in my 1st blind. They don't leak and keeps the inside dry. I've seen some used windows for sale that would good too. At the time I only paid $25 for the windows...
Aslo a lot of smaller lockers stopped processing deer due to the process they have to go through in their locker. Local locker here will only take deboned deer meat. They are booked with beef and pork and will make a lot more money from that so really can't blame them since you shutdown all...
Won't argue numbers are down, but with the warm temps so far, no real reason for the deer to move into the cover versus being out in the fields. Saw a lot of young deer so far, several older doe, but only one older looking buck. Several small bucks running around in the mix.
Guess it depends what you have for a window? Mine are vinyl sliders and and make no noise when opening and I can open them slowly enough that I've had does 5 yards from the blind. The blind is elevated, if on the ground not os easy.
I have a pvc pipe urinal set up in the blind that dumps out next to it. Had deer walk right through the area it dumps out. Even used it while having deer feeding 5 yards from the blind and nothing.
I don't bow hunt, but like to be in the blind close to an forty five minutes to an hour before shooting time. I can usually have the windows halfway defrosted by that time.
