I agree, hunting success rate is not the only metric I use as to estimating the size of the deer herd in the areas I hunt.

I filled my 3 tags this weekend on public ground, so Id say deer numbers are looking good in my area!

On a side note, If you fatally wound a deer but are unable to find it, I think you should consider your tag filled! and yes, I practice what I preach!
