    So I'm just sitting there....

.......at my computer, at home, in the middle of Sioux City, Ia. I'm on the lower level, next to the bay window that looks over our front yard. I catch movement out of the corner of my eye and this is what I see......unreal! ( I suppose I couldn't say I had a peeping "tom" looking in my window...

    Make your own fletching?

Just wondering how many of you guys make your own fletching. I had 3 buddies come out first season, we all tagged out. In addition to making wingbone calls for everyone, I'm screwing around with making my own fletching out of the primary feathers from the birds. Just curious to see how many...

    Great turkey marinade

The bird I took yesterday was grilled last night...WOW! Try this out, it was great! Enough teriyaki sauce to cover the filleted turkey breasts when put in a Tupperware container large enough to accommodate both breasts side by side. ( wordy enough for you??) Soy sauce: 1/3 the volume...

    New wingbone calls started

I am in the process of making my buddies wingbone calls from the birds they shot when they were here first season. Here's a pic of all three rough-fit. The joints need to be apoxy'd, the mouthpieces tuned and they all need to painted. The call on the right was made from a jake that was taken, so...

Wanting to get into traditional archery.

Hey guys, I've always been a "new tech" sort of archer....always bought the cutting edge stuff, always tried to break the sound barrier with my arrows. The older I get, the more I think about "how it used to be done" rather than "what's coming next." What stick bows have you guys had luck...

Double Bull T5 Prostaff vs Matrix

Just bought a Matrix not too long ago. Set it up in all possible configurations and it beats the oval-windowed blinds hands down. You simply have an unlimited option when choosing your shooting window shape and if you want it netted or wide open. I can't imagine a better way to go....and...

    I couldn't believe it.....

I told a buddy of mine that lives here in IA , about a rifle season for birds that is legal in some other states. He reacted the same way I did. He added something else after he stopped laughing by saying this: " Dave, that's ridiculous!" I laughed, shrugged my shoulders and we continued...

    I couldn't believe it.....

I totally agree with the fun-factor! It's just my opinion that using a rifle takes all the things away that makes turkey hunting what it is...up close and personal. ( wacking one at 250+ yards would certainly bring a smile to my face though!

    I couldn't believe it.....

I read on another forum, something I didn't know existed. Rifle seasons for turkeys. I'm sure some of you guys live in a state that allows it, but personally, I have never heard of such a thing. I read it and had to stop for a second to compose myself. I might be the only guy in the world...

    Poundage

Pak, I ran into shouler problems when I was younger, shooting bows way too heavy for my stature at the time. Back in "the day" The only way to get velocity was to shoot huge poundage bows with overdraws. The second bow I owned was a Pearson Spoiler that I shot at 82#..at that time I was...
