Its all about the resource. Imagine MN only had 10 walleye lakes that would be a fair compairison of management abjectives to maintain over all quality. MN has how many millions of acres of public hunting ground? Last I read Iowa only has about two million TOTAL acres of forested ground...

Go over the the "golden triangle" of Illinois and try to have a quality hunt for the price of the NR tag. Think about it.... You would be a non-resident hunter over there just as I would. Now pretend your a resident in that area and don't own land. How is the public hunting ground.... Think...

More NR LO tags is more NR tags. Either way it doesn't matter, for every extra NR tag out there how many displaced resident hunters is that on average 1... 2.... 10...? Bottom line any changes to the current system will displace thousands of blue collar hunters non-resident and resident...

Nice, both are from north central Iowa, and have no clue what the state wide impacts will be, especially in the "deer country" of eastern and southern Iowa. I'm sure some legislators form the NE or SE could come up with some great ideas for managing the black dirt of these two's districts!

    Public Hunting Land

Most up to date imagery I have found, to be used with boundary maps, ie: dnr website, sportsmans atlas, etc. It has no property lines just high quality imagery. http://ortho.gis.iastate.edu/ Check to see if the county you are hunting uses this for their assesors office gis stuff. another good...

Increase in NR and NR-Landowner Tags!?? For the "average" guy

No bills yet. 6,000 was the number from last year along with the NR landowner tags. Right now certain people/organizations are laying down the ground work to get these same bills back on the floor for a vote.

Increase in NR and NR-Landowner Tags!?? For the "average" guy

Funny, you didn’t even try to comprehend or understand the point, and if you can’t see it you do truly have the “what’s best for me is the only thing that matters blinders” on. Actually what scares me the most is the UNLIMITED amount of NEW licensed NR land owners. If those with the deep...

Increase in NR and NR-Landowner Tags!?? For the "average" guy

There will be another push this legislative session! To the blue collar hunters that hunt public hunting areas?.... Resident and Non-Resident! 6,000 more NR hunters, equals on average about 60 additional hunters in the public grounds in the county you hunt. How will that affect the quality...

    Shed Buck Competition!! Get em!

If you guys want to worry about something that will actually impact the buck herd/deer hunting opportunities then you all better start looking into the Non-Resident Any Sex tag issue and the Non-Resident Landowner issues. Should early season muzzle loader still be allowed?

Harvesting "a deer" in any of the seasons is not difficult by any means in Iowa. Harvesting a big mature buck is, no matter the season. Archery 95, let me know how easy it is for you. I say that as I am nursing my 10,000 mosquito bites and am doing laundry from sweating through every stitch...

    Free tags for NR landowners

Nothing like giving it to the little guys, I have NR friends that hunt with me. What would happen to their odds of getting tags? Add those NRLO tags on top of the quota and displace a bunch of hunters pushing more and more to public ground, once again giving it to the little guy. This...

    Boiling Skulls?

Pretty much the same thing I do, cook for a couple hours w/dawn dish soap then pressure washer, repeat untill clean. Two bottles of the regular walmart peroxide will whiten a skull very nicely, just set the scull out in a sunny spot and pour enough to dampen the scull several times throughout...

You said, [SIZE=3] So,.... I will take that as an agreement to my first statement. Sorry, if I don't feel sorry for the fellow with the deep pockets who feels paying a bunch of money for some land entitles him to something above everybody else. I guess I am more worried about the NR who...
