    Lease prices

That's this whole discussion summed up in 10 words. The going price of leasing is whatever people are willing to pay. What's too much....try to find a landowner that's trying to lease his place out but can't get any takers based on his price being high. Most don't have that issue. I am...

I don't know why the pic didn't show but it is a snow stick with the snow showing 6ft of depth as of last Friday, April 19th

2 feet of snow in MN

Just 2ft, come on man that's nothing!! :) This picture is from Twin Lakes in Michigan's Upper Penninsula, taken last week Friday (April 19th). They had been down to 4ft but got 21+ inches in about a day and a half last week. Currently (April 23rd) it has settled and is down to about 4.5ft or...

    Under growth food plot?

How thick is the canopy? How much sunlight gets through to the forest floor? Is the natural undergrowth in the area thick and lush or is the area wide open with little to no natural undergrowth? There are several things you can plant is partially shaded area's but even the most shade...

    Comments on Calling...Do or don't?

Obviously different situations in terms of pressure and deer behavior for me here in Michigan vs for you guys in Iowa but I've had little success blind calling in terms of just grunting and bleating over the years. My brother inlaw swears by it but when you talk to him if he blind called and...

    The Trailer Buck

Everything about that story is bad a**!! Congrats to your dad for finding a way to keep getting it done and to continue to enjoy the sport he loves so much.

    11-18 it came together

Nice buck, and what a fun hunt. Heart had to be thumping during that encounter!! I love looking at the trail cam pics from the summer compared to now. The changes in body size/shape that mature bucks go through during the rut is ridiculous

    Bill Winke

Just watched this week's episode...........a teaser at the end is all you get on the G4 buck. Have to wait till next week. Sucks cause I'll be out on the property with no internet access but hard to complain about no computer when you're out hunting! The saga of the G4 buck has...

    Pretty Good 10

Great looking buck, be careful going after him though. Don't let him get you with that laser eye!!

    Dry weather--- antler growth?

I'm no expert on the subject so this is nothing more than my two cents on the subject so take it for what it is. As others have said, the lack of rain isn't so much what would effect antler growth as it is the trickle down effect that drought could possibly bring. If drought was severe you...

    More M80 troubles.....

We have an M80 and do get some blurry night pics but no more than we do with any of our other IR cams. As others have said above, the blurry night pic is the downside to the IR cam. Some will be better than others but they are all going to get some blurry pics. We may have just been lucky so...

    Playing dead doesn't always work

I love that sequence, it's hilarious. I love the middle picture. The coyote is walking away from the 1st opposum which has abandoned the "playing dead" technique and adopted the "run like hell" technique instead. Maybe the second opossum should have tried the same technique when the 'yote...

    Bushnell Trophy vs. Moultrie M80

We have a few older Bushenll Trophy Cam's (09's I believe....) and we added an M80 to the fleet this year. Our Bushnells are the older versions with fewer LED's than the current ones so they aren't all that great at night and give us more blurry night shots than the M80 does but I don't...

    Cow hunting???

Our property is mainly pasture with some woods and fenced off areas. It is good hunting but you are always dealing with the cows when going to or from you stand or especially if you are sitting one of the stands that isn't in a fenced off section of woods. They are a pain in the butt to say...

    Found a dead buck

He looks to be in decent shape in terms of a deer that may have been in a collision with a car. It looks like his legs aren't broken and doesn't appear to have any marks/cuts/etc on his exposed side either. Makes me think he wasn't the victim of a vehicle impact.

    Big Bucks Down October 23

Wow, that's awesome!! Two great bucks that will be part of the story but believe me when I say that a few years from now the best part of the story will be that you both got to share that day with each other. Back in 06 I shot my biggest buck and my dad and I tracked and drug it together...

    Moultrie M-80

We just added one to our aresenal and had it set on video mode. Kind of cool it takes a pic and a video everytime it is triggered so you get a still and a video of every situation.
