    Acorns to Oaks!

Actually, My source was the DNR. I find I do not often agree with them. And I am not at all sure how long the rootpruning system has been used. So 10 year old stands of root pruned trees would be quite rare I would think.

    Acorns to Oaks!

Would you comment on the difference on trees started in rootmakers and the same tree planted at the same time in it's permanent home after ten years. I have heard that by then there is not much difference in the two trees.

    How To Score A Buck

Kinda an important point! When scoring a deer rack you ALWAYS enter 4 circumfrences per side. In the case of a 4 point side you determine the distance half way from the center line of the g3 to the tip of the main beam. Divide that distance in half and write the circumfrence there TWICE...

    New World Record?

There is NO minimum requirement. Most times the breakeven number is 12 4/8. Most of the time it is the hunters choice and most choose whichever the deer ranks the highest relative to the other entered deer.

    FB stance on harvest reductions

The sportsmen of Iowa who voted for this clown and the legislators that are in the FARM BUREAU's pocket deserve whatever they get. There is NO doubt whatsoever that the FB wants ALL of the deer gone!!!!!!!!!!!! If ya got ANY business with the FB CANCEL it immediately!!!!!!!!!!

What do you sw hunters do.....

If ya can handle some tough winters, by FAR the best job opportunities currently are in North Dakota. I would be gone in a minute if I were younger. Housing is tough tho!!!!!!!!!!! Start watching the Bismarck Tribune online. If you are breathing it won't take over a day to find a job.

    CWD, Bacteria not prions???

WELLLLLLLLLLL, IF you delve deeply into the CWD thing, you will find that the "Prion" theory is based on VERY suspect research that was done ONLY one time. And NOT replicated. The Dr. that did that research was controversial to say the least. I have NO expertise in the matter, but ONE...

    Sad

I live in Webster County. I am only current on one of the inputs you mention. Cash rents in this area are mostly in the $450 dollar per acre area. I do not think you can rent any highly productive land for $225 anymore. If you know of some there are a BUNCH of locals who will come farm it. It...

    Rare Concordia Oaks Available Soon!!

I planted mine July 9, 2011. When I contacted them this week, I was told that they were doing an inventory and did not know if there are any left for this year. AND it could possibly be two years before they have some again. These trees are two years old and it seemed like there weren't any...

    Rare Concordia Oaks Available Soon!!

It IS amazing. It is absoultely gorgeous. You can see it at the DOT garden just south of the Conservation Building on the Missouri State Fairgrounds at Sedalia, Mo. It was probably6-8 feet tall when it was planted there in 2001 for their Centennial Fair. A plaque on a rock was installed at the...
