EMAIL NOW- Copy & Paste addresses

One of my local (D) reps told me to buy DNR license plates when I inquired about supporting IWILL. So it's not as easy as the letter behind their name.

    Spring beaver trapping

I read a "news" article the other day that said real furs are gaining in popularity. Maybe some people are coming to their senses that it might be better to wear real fur (renewable resource) rather than a synthetic oil-based alternative. Maybe the fur market will rebound a bit.

Sheds still hanging on! % left?

I need to do the cam circuit and pull cards. BIL is in hospice care and he told my uncle how much he enjoys the pics I share.

Whose got a booth at the classic this weekend?

Probably works, as do the other wonderful products in this thread, but I've gotten this far without it and don't need more gear to haul to the tree stand.

    Thermal Drones for deer surveys

I participated in the Coralville urban hunt back in the day. Had a coworker who granted me permission on their property. First sit, dropped 2 does as 5 walked by. Only had two tags in my pocket. The next year EHD came through and I didn't bother. So yeah, I'd line up for the IC hunt if...

OFFENSE!! 2 Bills to support!! SF 293 & SF 247 EMAIL IN!!! What a great change!!!!

While 4 antlerless LOT's might help me manage 200 acres, it won't do squat on 2,000. The anysex LOT does nothing for herd management unless filled with a doe, IMO.

How many of those are farmers, not recreational landowners? You going to buy their thousand acres of holdings? Statistics can be presented in different ways to advance an agenda.

    Welder I think I’m gonna buy… Miller 255 -

Yesterday I got out my "welder" out for the first time in a very long time. It's a 110V stick system, can only do small jobs with it. There was a battery box fastener on a Kubota UTV that had a plastic handle on it, which was frozen and the plastic handle broke off when I put adjustable jaw...

White Buffalo claims liability insurance isn’t cheap, and I would guess that to be true. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Thermal Drones for deer surveys

Why actually fix a problem when you can kick the can down the road? Bureaucracy lives on since emotions rather than common sense rule the day. Sound familiar?

    Thermal Drones for deer surveys

The City Council is afraid that "someone (knuckle draggers) might take pleasure out of killing a deer". They create so many restrictions on bowhunting that is almost impossible to find a place to hunt. Then, White Buffalo can sharp shoot them in the head over corn piles with HP rifles in the...

    Thermal Drones for deer surveys

There was mention of thermal drones on here in a couple of different threads, but so as to not hijack them, decided to post this on its own. There was an article in the local paper about people in Iowa City complaining about deer damage to ornamentals in their yards. Well, duh, IC makes it...

Tis the season for shed poaching!

To deter people, since some people suck, I don't leave any stands out on PRIVATE ground. Kind of stinks, but it is what it is. Almost glad the properties are in areas that aren't known for huge deer and are fairly open so that trespassers don't feel real safe hidden by trees. Bummer for those...

    Off the wall idea

We had a limb busting bumper crop in 2023, two boxes picked that day weighed 40 lbs. I canned about 200 lbs off of 3 trees. 2024 there wasn't a crop, think the trees were resting up. Looking forward to this year. Backyard farm orchard.

    Off the wall idea

Seems like all the peach trees I've planted have succumbed to some sort of borer. You see the sap plug where it oozes out from where they entered. Some say you can take a piece of wire and try to fish them out, but I don't have time for that. I haven't tried spraying. You seen any pest...

Day 2 Mission: Making City Park woods into Bedding area

Native regen or the opportunity for invasives to take hold? Not sure what letting nature take its course would amount to anymore.
