My point- which most know and will follow- is there are those few people who are going to start hunting the first day their tag says because “their tag dates are valid”. Remember, common sense isn’t so common anymore.
So I just was looking at my tag dates and see the landowners is good from like 9/21 on- obviously I assume that is for youth, but how many people do we think will abuse that?!
I’ve had bad luck in the areas I tried bare roots with- combination of deer mow em off or just don’t seem to take. Hoping to basically create more seedlings than they will eat off but not even sure that’s a good choice. Just don’t have much for options, and want to make it more useful for deer...
I’m a stones throw from MN up in north central Iowa.
I’ve got about 2 acres that I can only access when crops are out due to I have to cross the neighbors (was trying to buy a lane and their financial advisor said no) and I can’t access it from my side due to a creek/swamp that a bridge isn’t...
I’m looking to buy bulk seeds (not sure varieties yet) for trees but not sure where to look. Local forester gave me leads but one no longer did it and other doesn’t offer only once a year (not a big deal as I’m just searching). Anyone got anything?
Where are you located? (Just general location) I’m up in north Iowa and my tractor and tiller are just sitting here this year- buddy doesn’t think he’s doing anything now and I’ve got corn and a weed field that I am going to try a whole different idea (not a good idea but we will see)
So when do you plant them? Always wanted to try them here- now I have a space to do it right next to the river bottom. Any other tips/suggestions?! I might have to pick your brain with all my questions
I have seen one that has blown up, otherwise nothing impressive yet..but I wont really start seeing many of the big ones until the first week in August typically
Well you’re talking about closing deer season when they are breeding- let’s do it to turkeys. While we are talking it- a gun can shoot 2-300 yards, a bow in most hands 40 yards. There’s your November difference ♂️ clearly you can understand why bow hunters get longer, it’s simply harder versus...
Every county has a version of beacon- go to the assessors page, usually they have GIS maps (beacon, vanguard, Sid well, etc) just some of the counties I work in for have those for example. You can actually do property and sales searches/listings too
