    Public Land Timing

    I used to hunt public and agree with Zim1. If you hunt public that is bird hunted it definitely makes a difference. Mature bucks are not going to stick around where there are a bunch of humans and dogs walking around or in the vicinity of their bedrooms carrying and shooting guns.

    Rut

    I too hunt warren and clarke county. I have yet to see chasing. I have seen some decent bucks by themselves cruising but no chasing. Otherwise the deer are acting like it is September.

    Hunting the rain?

    I love hunting in a light rain, my favorite time. Too heavy of a rain, forgot it until it quits. Make sure of you shot and watch closely.

    Mechanical Broadheads

    I've shot 2 bucks and 2 does with the rage 2 blade. I have never had a pass through with them. It almost cost be a nice buck last year. I'm going back to the Muzzy fixed.
