At this point- I hope it goes through just to see the challenge.
I've argued against it but there is no downside to me on either end. I won't try to claim residency no matter if it is 30 or 180 days so this doesn't affect me at all but if a lawsuit goes forth and NR landowners rights are...
I had to call to get off the resident list so I could buy a NR turkey tag and small game license. I was a registered landowner and it would have sold me a resident tag no problem. Good thing I'm an honest kind of guy.
Bonker,
It takes longer than you think when you consider the cost of the vehicle, plates, and insurance- these are all sunk costs before you even get to the difference in fuel savings. I really think you are a good candidate for a motorcycle. :-)

LOL
How do you compare lbs vs pls lbs? Are we comparing apples to apples when quoting this differently? How does the germination rate play into that number?
Iowaqdm- I hope that your vast legal experience and opinion holds water but there is more to it, I am not sure what is going on but there are too many questions to rock the boat as it does seem like when someone tells me it is a "no-brainer" it should be enough to give me pause. Someone is...
nanny- I just meant that there is a price shock compared to seeding clovers and beans when you get into natives. Native is nice because you have to do it once for seed and then just maintain it. So what should CIR sell for? I thought that was in the normal range?
If the bill is defeated or doesn't go anywhere, things stay the same and at least you know what you have for right now. Wealthy loop-hole residents (a few anyway), may not be right but at least things stay the same.
Pass this bill and you may open a can that can't be sealed up again. Threat of...
Well- I was dumb enough pay for a NR license and habitat when I didn't need it then.
So if the deer are the state's property (I'm not arguing that) then why aren't the squirrels, rabbits, quail, etc also the state's property?
"It does seem odd I can hunt small game and fish this land without any liscense so it is evident the DNR does recognize the non-resident landowner in some aspects"
I think you need a small game license...
"we should support to further restrict of a hand fool of "loop-hole" residents"
Is the "hand fool" just a Freudian slip? :-)
Depending on who gets involved and why, a lawsuit of this type isn't all that expensive.
IowaQDM-
Reread my posts- keep the numbers the same, nothing I suggest would be to the detriment of Iowa residents.
I am not complaining about the number of tags for NR and I knew the rules when I moved- no problem. I am suggesting a way to maximize the return for the DNR and tie up less land...
