looks like that mature doe in your last pic is really a shed buck, just say. I would say he is 3.5 and about to blow up. give him 2 years and he will be a giant.
If it were me, I would gather up all of the dead trees in the timber and make the biggest brush pile you have ever seen. Would be a lot of work to do, but Im sure that they would get the message.
I know this is way out in left field here but one of my buddies hit a deer that was in the 190s with his pickup last year, he is not a hunter and was just on his way to work when he hit it. There was a sheriff in the opposite lane coming towards him, after hitting the deer the sheriff stopped...
My cousin found an elk shed a couple years back, took it to one of his professors and he said it was atleast 200 years old, but I would have thought the squirrels would have had it long gone by then.. idk I am no professor but I know how long it takes for a squirrel to have some bone eaten up.
from knoxville. havent heard of a 300 incher yet. got a pic of a 235 incher that was sent to me in a text message that said it was shot east of knoxville but it was really shot in SW iowa by silver city. I heard yesterday that there was a 23 pointer shot East of town, heard it from a reliable...
I would like to talk to him and just let him know that he should think about calling a little less. Not really sure on how I should approach him about this though. I dont have a problem with him being that close to the fence because its his land and he can do as he pleases. It just kinda...
little ones are chasing and the big boys are just starting to push the does around now. Would have had a decent buck last night but found out that my neighbor put a stand 60 yards from where my stand is, 2ft. on his side of the fence and was rattling every 5 minutes and when he wasnt rattling...
Did a rattling sequence last night around 610, followed by a grunting sequence and by 630 there were atleast 5 different bucks around me all grunting, 2 of them began to fight too. The biggest one was probably a 140 so a decent buck.
Sitting over an alfalfa field tonight and had over 20 does, couple small bucks and a shooter was chasing a hot doe. Didnt think it was possible that a doe would be in heat this early but she was a lone doe and he was on her tail. Trust me guys, I wouldnt have believed it if I hadnt seen it...
Marlin Hoch of Hoch's Taxidermy is the best taxidermist I know, deer look like they ran through the wall when he is done with them. Plus, your not going to wait half a year to get them back, my deer took about 6 weeks to get it back and it was shot 1st season shotgun. His price is right around...
My brother was picking up rocks in one of our fields this weekend and found a rock that had some interesting markings on it. My thoughts were that it may be some kind of Indian grinding stone but I am probably way off. Does anyone know what could have made these circles on this rock? Just...
My grandpa just recently bought a new peice of land that he is going to build a house on. Behind the house there is about half an acre to an acre of grown up grasses and shrubs that my grandpa would like to remove and replace with some native prairie grasses and flowers. He was wondering what...
All of the recent pics of the one with the giant brows were blurry for some reason so I deleted them. I am hoping to get some good ones of him next time. Anyone want to try and guess the age of the wide buck?
