I am going to start fresh! Mine were rained out/flooded and I late planted some rye and clover. I haven't had much time to prep the area with all of the RAIN we have gotten. Will mow, spray, and disc in preparation for the fall.
I would definitely plant rye and clover together in the fall, or just go rye now and frost seed the clover into the rye plot next spring. Totally your choice. The rye will stay green through december all things considered.
I frost seeded white clover into an old rye plot and just got done mowing it. I was amazed at how well the plot stayed weed free and lots of clover growing underneath the tall rye! Something to think about. I am sure I could now just spray the rye and the clover would Take over.
I would mow everything once it is established and spray once temps are up. Clover may also overtake the weeds ans no need to spray afterwards and save some money.
I just do it "my way". Which is I think a blend of everything. I do enjoy habitat improvement and some food plots, but some of that is more out of enjoyment and satisfaction. All of our farms that were once farmed and worked by my grandparents on both sides are now in CRP. No one on either...
I would really like to see a PMA membership farm tours type program where we could visit farms or have others come and view our farms and provide tips, etc. Would be a great way to meet members and share ideas. Almost like some of the REALLY expensive courses that QDMA offers.
I disagree, my favorite spreader of all time is now this. A little pricier, but man, so much nicer than messing with a bag!

I have an area that I need to screen off the deer from, don't call me lazy for not back tracking on transplanting cedars, but anything major you really have to do?
I planted 10 apple trees today, so that was my big project.
If you want to put down mineral than just do it. I have never understood all of this CO business. If you aren't being ethical and hunting over bait, etc. that is one thing. I think common sense is all that really needs to be considered and applied from all parties involved. There is no...
The clover I put down the past 2 1/2 weeks hasn't done nothing still can see the seed in lots of spots. So you definitely should be fine. Might catch some rain too.
