    For all you shotgunners

Nailed a doe at 168 yards last year and shot my buck at 146 yards, both dropped where they stood. I did retrieve my slug out of the buck, pretty cool to see those winchester plantuim tip slugs open up.

    Feb Sport Show

I've never shot in any type of archery tournament, but would like to give it a try. What can you tell me about the pop-up 3d tournament? How many targets, what is the typical distance of targets? Will I need to set a 50-yard site pin? How many arrows should I bring, keep in mind I will more...

    2003 shotgun buck

We had a very good shotgun season this year, with one minor issue. We hunted some private ground around my uncle's farm before hitting my dads timber where I do most of my bow hunting. We waited till noon since I have seen a few nice bucks come into the timeber later in the mornings while bow...

    BowTech

I've also got a bowtech mighty mite and love it, fast light and dead on. I use to shoot a bear super xlr, which was a nice bow but weighed twice as much and was 11" longer than the bowtech.

    spotlight question for someone...

One part of spotlighting that is illegal, that I did not know about, is that you can not shine over the center line of the road. Which means you can only shine from the passenger side of the vehicle. My cousin just found this out last week when he was pulled over by the DNR and DEA. He had no...

Holosight or Red Dot for shotgun?

I used the tasco pro point 5 for 2 years on my deer gun and really liked it. I really just used it to get in the habit of looking thru a tube instead of the rifle sights. I now have it on my muzzleloader and have put a leupold vari X II 3 X 9 X 50 on my shotgun. Just remember to always have...

    Good Processors

We take ours to Ulrichs in Pella, best place period in my opinion, but I am dutch so that may sway my opinion. Friend of mine uses Boyds in Washington and would have to say they are very good as well.

Anyone use a handgun for deer?

I carry a Taurus raging bull .480ruger during the shotgun season. I have it sighted in at 100 yards. I have no problem with taking a shot out too 125 - 135 yards. I have dropped both deer that I shot at with this gun.
