I just found out that I had about a 95% failure on my brassica's this year. I had a guy convince me to use a new blend from a up and coming company. I have had 7" of rain since I planted on the 11th of August (Kansas) and my plots look like they have mange. Should I light disk and plant Turnips...
In Kansas we have 1/3 of the deer population you guys do and probably 20 times the number of cattle that you have. You have a lot more ag compared to our pastures. If it is cattle causing the problems then we should get wiped out year after year. I have 3 pastures and 3 new sets of cattle each...
We were super dry until October last year. It hasn't stopped raining since. Where I am in NE Kansas we have had two years in the last 15 where we had as much as 40" in a year. The average is around 32" per year. Until October last year we had only had 22" with many ponds and creeks going dry...
I have had this guy on camera for a few years. In 2017 i wanted to give him 2 more years. This is what has happened since then.
2017- 3.5 years old
2018- 4.5 years old
2019- 5.5 years old
Early ML season opens in Kansas on Sept 17. I think I am going to take a really close look at...
A couple of years ago I got tired of the long walk (3/4 mile) in really rocky terrain trying to carry everything I needed plus plus. My home town has a Dollar General so to save a 45 mile drive to a bigger town I checked it out. All they had were Hello Kitty back packs for school and I said no...
The guy who directed the video lives down by Stuttgart so they film his videos there quite a bit. You can look up more of his videos on YouTube. His name is Kevin Blake Weldon. His website is www.funnyhuntingsongs.com
Awesome guy who hunts with me in Kansas. He also lived in DesMoines for...
That definitely isn't it. She lives a mile from the nearest road. Those scratches down both sides are healing now and she is starting to put weight back on. if you look close you can see she has scratches on both hind legs as well as high on the right side. There appear to be some deep puncture...
Here are a couple I will be watching. The first one, this is the 3rd year I have pics of him. The first year I decided he needed two more years. This should be the year. It will be interesting to see what the next 5 weeks do to him.
The second one is new. I had a similar buck two years ago...
Your still early. I have seen deer put on a ton of inches from the July 15 to August 15. Be patient, all should be well. I have seen deer with short tines add 6-8” of tine length after July 15.
Spent the day with the family at Yellowstone. On to Cody for the rodeo and fireworks. I hope everybody has a great holiday celebrating our independence!!
You should call Redneck direct. They trade damaged blinds for new ones, then fix and resell the trade-ins. Should be an economical way to get a refurbished blind that is ready to go and if you have problems, they will stand behind it.
Here is a cheap piece of advice. If you are going on a Bovine hunt, it is always preferable to load the animal before shooting it. I promise it will make your work much easier!!:D:D
Yellowstone in July is busy but it is still awesome. I wouldn’t let Chinese tourists scare me away. If your doing Badlands hit Mt Rushmore, Devils Tower and then drive thru the Bighorn mountains over to Cody WY.
Make sure you hit the Cody museum (the Winchester family gun collection is there)...
If I understand you correctly now, it sounds like the 1/2 that you neighbor should take care of doesn't have cattle in it. If that is the case, then you would start from corner post to corner post of the pasture that have cattle in it and you are responsible for your half of the property line of...
In Kansas we use the Right Hand Rule. That said, I have had neighbors who didn't have cattle (I Did) that wouldn't fix their fence because they didn't care if my cattle got onto them. We and many others I know in the same situation just fix it all border fences every year including the neighbors...
