    Clearing field question

I'm going to give the dog bark a try this year too, I don't think the deer here even look up anymore at a coyote howl...

    Double Throat Patch!

I love those double throat patch deer. We had a double doe on our place last year, it was very easy to pick her out.

    Age this one

Great buck!! He does look young, but I don't think there is any way I could pass that deer, perhaps if I had exclusive permission on 2000+ acres and that pic was on the middle of it. Do you have any other pics of him?

    Hunting with the cattle

If the pasture has cattle year-round, the deer will be fine, depending on the amount of cover (too many cows will kill any spot). If the cows get moved in shortly before deer season, you better find another place to hunt. The most aggravating thing about hunting cattle pastures is all the work...

    Brassica Root Disease/Pests

Just plant some early beans, they'll help fertilize your brassicas in the fall to boot.

Best option for me to establish a food plot?

In my opinion, a small tractor (30-40hp) is a great investment. They keep their value quite well, they're small enough to trailer behind your truck, so you can use it at home too. Once you have a tractor, by shopping smart, you can pick up old equipment dirt cheap. We have a 7' disk, a 12' disk...

    MAX RACK Producing Results

Some of us are a little cranky this morning:D, you post would be much better received next time by just saying "good bucks over a mineral station". You've definitely got some quality bucks to keep you busy this fall.

    Getting Dissapointed

Everything will change next month, I wouldn't worry too much about it.

    Feds Target 60 Poachers

Hopefully they'll be charged, convicted, and punished to the full extent of the law; I'm not going to hold my breath though. Some judge will let them off with a few thousand dollars in fines -- pocket change to a couple Texas fat cats. Coldwater, Ashland, and Protection used to have some of the...

    Decoys

The last buck I killed was shot about 15 seconds after destroying my decoy. I've also had them mess me up though. Just make sure you set it up in a way that it doesn't surprise the deer. I have had a decoy for three years, I probably use it 20% of the time. It's a PAIN to carry in!

    Brassicas

It's been two weeks since we planted our brassicas the soil was powder dry at planting. We've had one decent rain on them five days after planting (1") and they have germinated. Now the plants are about a 1/2" tall and actually look pretty good considering the heat and lack of rain lately. How...

jeep vs 4 wheeler or gas cart

I'd suggest one of these! Actually, you'd probably be better off with a four wheeler, but if you want to take something to Colorado too, get a jeep!!:way:

    Deer Habits/patterning after velvet

We don't see ANY nice bucks on our place 'til mid-October. I've almost given up on setting up trail cams in late summer. We've put them on food plots, trails, even put on camera over corn and apples. Nothing but does, fawns, and a few smallish bucks.

    Food Plot Pics 8-23-10

Nice to know shotplot will actually work, this will be my last try with it this year if it doesn't work; I don't think it has all been the fault of the seed though, I wish we could steal some of your rain! August rain can be hard to come by down here. Great looking plots you've got there!!!

    Brassicas

Your not alone, I don't think mine will make it down here in Kansas, just looked at it last night. We need rain BAD!
