    Stump grinding and Tordon RTU

How big are the stumps? I've successfully pulled stumps up to 8-9" in diameter with our tractor and a little help from an ax. I'm assuming your dealing with much bigger stumps.

    Brassicas

I'm assuming you mean I can top dress the granular type phosphorus I get at the feed store in bulk, right? If so, do I need to try and spread this before a rain, or will it last a while? Sorry, I'm a little naive with this stuff...

    Brassicas

Dbltree, can I topdress phosphorus? I tilled in potash and nitrogen at planting, but I neglected phosphorus.

    Apple/Pear Trees

Dbltree, I'm having a hard time tracking down a place to buy this product. After some research I've found "rally 40wsp" is the new name for "nova 40w", and it's a DOW product. I'm going to call the county extension office to see if they can help. I guess I could just give David, at Century...

    Apple/Pear Trees

I visited with David Vernon at Century Farms this morning; he was extremely helpful, not only with possible ordering advice, but also with the trees I've already planted. I told him of the bad Cedar Apple Rust problem I've been dealing with on our goldrush trees. His advice was to spray next...

    Apple/Pear Trees

Dbltree, one more question for now, and probably a dumb one at that. I planted a couple Keiffer pear trees two years ago that simply look amazing right now, they seem to be very hardy. They are standard trees though; have they engineered a semi-dwarf Keiffer pear?

    Apple/Pear Trees

Dbltree, of those you mentioned, which would be the best pollinator of enterprise? Are they all pretty late-blooming trees?

    Apple/Pear Trees

I just talked to Adams county and they recommend I purchase several enterprise (very highly disease resistant) and possibly a crimsoncrisp for a pollinator. Has anyone used this combination? Thanks Letemgrow, for the heads-up on the other nurseries... As much time as I've spent watering apple...

    Apple/Pear Trees

It'll be time to order trees for next spring/late winter before you know it. With the trouble I've had with cedar apple rust, I was planning on ordering a couple Arkansas Blacks and a couple Nova Spy trees. That sound about right to you guys? Do any of you have any experience with the Nova Spy...

    Brassicas

I'll be planting brassicas here in Southern Kansas in about two weeks or so. it's pretty dry down here right now, and HOT! What do I need to do to "work the seed in"? Last year I disked, fertilized, broadcast and then dragged (chainlink fence with cinder blocks on it). The dragging buried the...
