Great video! Thanks! How big is your pond?

We don’t seem to be picking up a lot of new deer, but we tend to be hoping and looking for new mature bucks. We have excellent habitat, very little pressure, lots of food. It will be very interesting to see what shakes out after the winter storm(s) in the next couple of weeks.

About 5 of us are fiends and have neighboring farms in Van Buren County. It seems we lost many of our mature bucks. Several were our best bucks. Overall numbers seem down considerably, also.

As a non-resident who has owned property in Iowa since 2006, I would hate to see the season close on December 31. Either my son or I try to draw a tag each year, and hunt after Christmas during the late muzzleloader season. This year my son hunted while I hung out with his two daughters, aged 7...

I have several that I’ve left in blinds all year. So far, cross my fingers, they haven’t been bothered by the weather or varmints. They come apart easily into two parts and are pretty easy to carry. Very comfortable and after 3-5 years, they remain quiet. Zero squeaking.

We’ve had experience planting late July to mid-August. We were spoiled with some knee deep greens and many large turnips. I think you’ll enjoy watching the feast going on in December! Good luck!
