Is 2-4D (LV400) safe on EW? I know it wont help with grass competition but it would at least take out the broadleaves, and I have the 2-4D on hand. Last year I used Crossbow and the EW didnt seem to like it. The EW lived, but it seemed to effect it for a while.

Thanks Paul. The cuttings from BRT look pretty cheap but I might do a little reading and attempt to harvest my own from local sources. I have red dogwoods I could use and common river willows cant be too hard to grow I wouldnt think.
I have a couple areas that look about like the background of your 3rd pic. It is pretty wet in the spring and then dries up a little bit later in the year, but its always damp. Nothing grows in it now but some type of grass about 12"-18" high.
